Weird song, but I really like it! I keep surprising myself when it comes to Gaga because I hated her most popular stuff (besides songs from the Fame Monster). I’ve actually been able to appreciate a lot of her recent stuff (since ArtPop). This single kind of reminds me of ‘Applause’ (as far as it’s appeal, both songs are pretty catchy), but I can see why this will have a few mixed reactions.
Gaga cannot stop growing and showing more and more talent. I´ve always said it, The Fame was her most basic release (music industry forces you to do basic to at least let you in, Gaga has talked about taht in the past saying that executives told her to mask her voice cause it was too broadway-like for nowadays pop radio). She slayed anyway cause she still found a way to bring something enw and create the perfect storm with that album. But teh best has come after that, vocally, musically and in all senses. Jazz album and all. She´s a true talent (despite what all these people always hating on talented artists say).
This is giving me Livin On a Prayer and Papa Don’t Preach teas. I like it though, she’s getting my coins.

It’s not a bad song, but it’s not memorable. On the positive side, I like the minimalistic lyrics, she’s trying not to be too over the top, I appreciate that. On the negative side, the song is overproduced, it’s kind of messy, similar to the production on ‘Born This Way’, which is her best body of work but hasn’t aged very well, it’s like so 2011, but this song could work now in 2016, is different from what other pop stars are doing, so she might do well this time. Personally I don’t feel the need to listen to it again, I’m so tired of female pop stars these days, not just Gaga but all of them, so while I think the song is the right direction for her, it didn’t wow me. Gaga’s an interesting artist, one whose career must be followed, even if you’re not a fan, my case, she turned me off a couple of years a go, but I like a say, she’s an interesting artist, I’ll be watching her.

The song is definitely raw as a means of her scaling back. It’s not bad. It’s actually good, but it’s not great. Those vocals sound just a tad bit shaky, but it gives it a rawness. I think she will get praise for this song because of its minimalist sound especially when no one is used to hearing such from GaGa. I’ll give her a pass this time. I think I like the direction this may be going in. However, I’m definitely waiting to see what Ms. Perry offers up.
From a management perspective, she did right. She waited until Bey, Rih, and Adele got their material into the Pop lane first so she didn’t have to slip in unnoticed. Because let’s be real: this song compared to Hello, Work, and Lemondade wouldn’t have stood up well.

I like “the first 5 sec” sound and i prefer more clean breaks with this sound. The song is good, i like it but too much vocal.

There were moments where I wasn´t sure about it and then there were moments that I found amazing. All this at the same first listen. The song sure sticks after just one listen that´s for sure anyway.
At second listen I think I like it more. Overall great, she always offers something radio isn´t playing at the moment, a real artist. She´s definitely not here for that pshit of not showing your voice anymore (The Fame era). She´s here to slay as an artist like she´s been doing these last few years.
