Loved her past pop hits and that cute little voice that was a christina and a little mariah. Now she has moved past her pop past and jumped into the Rnb Lane. The reason shes having an issue with radio play is: Black radio is not gonna play her. Stay in your lane JoJo go back to your pop hits and vocals and stay in that lane and make them coins. JoJo is not Teena Marie and black radio does not embrace white girls trying to sound black. Who is her management? Who choses her producers? Why does she hold back that beautiful voice on all her records without holding back? She can sing Mariah’s fly like a bird? Time is precious and she has the talent. Wrong material is she wants radio play.

I have to disagree. I was very disappointed with this album as it is too pop. The songs sound very generic and similar to whats out now which kinda makes Jojo sound like any singer out at the moment. I had high hopes for this album and the pop n b that Jojo gave with her past efforts as well as mixtape and leaked songs, but this unfortunately wasn’t worth the wait so i’ll hold out for the next album

      • Sandra October 14, 2016

….But there is no doubts that Jojo can sing! I’s love a Jojo and Jessie J duet

      • BCinKS October 14, 2016

I feel you on this. She took all the popular catch phrases from twitter, threw in every drinking, f’ing, and smoking reference she could think of and sung on top of beats that sound similar to songs already out. Too late. Too cliche.

She can sing though. And there are a few hot-ish songs, but for the most part, she’s going to get lost in the shuffle. This would be a nice Kehlani album, but for Jojo, it’s not that good. High Road is still bump-able so I guess we’ll wait for the next album.

    • Ughhhh October 14, 2016

@Lisa and @Sandra your are both wrong. This albums is perfect. If you’re a true Jojo fan you would know she dips into both genres in all her albums and this album has r and b, as well as pop and its transitions very smoothly.

      • Danzou October 14, 2016

Did that h** really say black radio won’t play Jojo? When she released “demonstrate” black radio was the only radio they supported her. The gag is black radio is the only radio that PLAYS r&b. Top 40 only plays r&b if the artists are white or light skinned so cut it.

      • Sandra October 14, 2016

@Ughhhh @Lisa and myself are not wrong, its our opinion. I like Jojo as an artist and a singer but this album hasn’t worked for me.
I’m tired of the words”if you were a fan” there is too much music out there to enjoy to be a fan of one.
If you’re going to jump on the back of a conversation try using “i disagree” or “my opinion”

      • Danzou October 14, 2016

No it’s not just an opinion every time someone tells you that you were wrong so stop. If u want facts then just go look at billboard yourself it’s not that hard. Top 40 DOES NOT play rnb unless it’s a light skinned artist or a white person. Jojo only really gets played on black radio. It’s the same thing teena marie went through at first

      • Sandra October 14, 2016

@Danzou, the reply clearly wasn’t for you. If you had read it you would’ve seen that it doesn’t relate to your comment and more to @Ughhhh unless you’re the same person.

      • Danzou October 14, 2016

Lol MY BAD BABE I thought you s lisa

      • #JACKIE October 14, 2016

        Demonstrate was a BANGER! That’s the JoJo I like…..

      • jw86 October 14, 2016

SOME OF THESE COMMENTS SOUND SO IGNORANT! FIRST OFF WHY DOES SHE HAVE TO BE TRYING TO SOUND BLK?! SECONDLY THE BLACK COMMUNITY HAS ALWAYS EMBRACED JOJO SO GET THE FACTS STRAIGHT ! JOJO HAS THE VOICE TO SING WHATEVER SHE WANTS SO IF YOU DONT LIKE IT CHANGE THE STATION! CONGRATS JOJO WELCOME BACK

    • Anthony October 14, 2016

Have you listened to the album? If you did you would see the album is amazing. This is all her. When she was young she had to do what she was told but now she’s free and could do music she loves. It suits her so screw radio if they don’t wanna play her cause her album is number 2 on iTunes.

  2. Trainwreck October 14, 2016

    Please WIN Jojo…

  3. Theman October 14, 2016

Who said that she’s trying to sound black though? If the music is great then shut up. Ya’ll complain about everything. That’s her natural voice.

  4. #JACKIE October 14, 2016

After ten years, she should’ve came back with a masterpiece. Most of the songs on this album are incredibly generic and bland. While vocally talented, she has NO ear for music. She’s done.

    • NOpe October 14, 2016

      *looks at your username*

      Ah. I understand.

      • #JACKIE October 14, 2016

Girl please kill yourself. Ciaras music SLAYS NoNo’s. Let’s hope “SAD Love” will crack 10K bih.

      • Paulo October 14, 2016

        10k? honey it’s #2 on iTunes… womp womp womp

      • #JACKIE October 14, 2016

And? She will still barely crack 10K.

I don’t even dislike her. She can blow but everything else LACKS.

      • Danzou October 14, 2016

        Lol “nonos” STOP!

    • Terny October 14, 2016

Ure disgusting.. Sit down and shut up! No one wants to hear h8t filled so called opinions from a frustrated bitter craparra Stan.. Wen last was tht thing u Stan so hard for relevant? • #JACKIE October 14, 2016

No b**** you’re just pressed. All of these other comments saying the exact same thing and you choose to only respond to mine? Girl go pop some Xanax with your box shaped fav and get the f*** outta my replies.

      • #JACKIE October 14, 2016

By the way Ciara is STILL relevant 12 years into her career. *shines her platinum plaques sitting prettily on her mantelpiece* I can’t say the same for NoNo. Meet me in the first week sales post next week b****.

  5. JOHNVIDAL October 14, 2016

Congrats to her for finally being able to release her material and do what she wants and loves. She went through rough times.

  6. Mar October 14, 2016

Rise Up is a dope ass track. She’s singing all through this album. Good Thing mad dope too. Vocally this album has def showed me a different side of her. She’s nothing to be played with on record.

    • WordsWithSam October 14, 2016

Currently playing Rise Up on repeat, myself. It’s a great track.

  7. WordsWithSam October 14, 2016

The variety of sounds and styles is refreshing while not sounding disjointed. Each track is interesting and the production is really, really solid.

I’m so happy to have this in my hands finally. She didn’t disappoint with Mad Love.

  8. Paulo October 14, 2016

this album is definitely her poppiest! I’m surprised. but it’s so cohesive and she’s singing her ass off! and it’s definitely moodier than what I expected. I hope it’s a huge success for her

  9. Justafan October 14, 2016

Woah….lovin Vibes – it def should be the next single. Album is haaaaawwwwt

  12. Music lover October 14, 2016

Love the album from start to finish !

  13. cocobutta October 14, 2016

I’ll support and get a physical copy.
Not sure she should have put whole project on youtube right away but someone would habe anyway.
At least get to hear it before my amazon order comes.

    • Paulo October 14, 2016

exactly. someone would eventually and this way she’ll squeeze the most out of first week streaming numbers. considering her promo has been so-so I think it’s a smart move.

  14. IKNOWTHETRUTH October 14, 2016

    URBAN POP PERFECTION. PERIOD.

  15. Terny October 14, 2016

Already purchased from ITunes and loving it.. Congrats JoJo she never disappoints..

  16. Anthony October 14, 2016

All the people who are bashing this album need to shut the hell up and get a hearing aid. The album is amazing. She put her best into this album and it shows. She slayed this album with its different sounds and her vocals are amazing.

  17. 4everBrandy_Ci October 14, 2016

Lord have mercy! I tried to get the album today but I’ll get it another time! I’m reading these comments and I tell you there’s a bunch of miserable hating ass folks. However if people don’t like the direction JoJo presented with this album that’s fine. You have the right to have your perspective. BUT I have to nip it in the bud about Ms. JoJo! It’s been ten years since her last album and she went through b******* with her old record label trying to disrespect her artistry. Now she released this new album and from the reviews I say people that love JoJo will love this album! This is her cohesive album she’s done again. I heard the snippets but I will check out the full versions of each record. Stop with the stupid ass stan wars and tearing JoJo down just because y’all don’t like her records now. These similar stan accounts of other artists need to HAVE A SEAT and go see what your favorite artist is up to. I saw a few comments that irked me as well. Black radio will play JoJo but the thing is the politics in the record business is the issue here. JoJo is an artist and can do whatever she likes when it boils down to the direction of her albums. She can do urban and other elements in her records. Just because she’s doing that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s not going to give you substance.

This is the issue I have with some people that don’t go out and support these artists. You want to talk so much about what they should’ve did yet their the ones who have the right to express themselves. If you don’t like then you need to keep it moving. I’m definitely going to get my physical copy and JoJo really is an amazing artist!

  18. #Nicole Nation/J. Cole October 14, 2016

This album is way too poppy, especially for someone who considers herself a “soul singer.”

I was kind of excited to hear what JoJo was going to slay us with but sadly there isn’t much slayage here, she needs to stop with these hip hop-ish pop tracks. I honestly thought “vibe” was gonna be an r&b song like “Bang” or “I Run It” but sadly far from it.

She’s still talented, but I don’t see myself playing many of these tracks again. It sorta reminds me of that under-welming Monica album last year, that wasn’t poppy but it was generic as hell and a letdown.

    Better luck next time, JoJo!
