Few acts reach new peaks with their fourth album. But Little Mix have bucked that trend.

The Pop quad released their latest effort ‘Glory Days’ last week and have gone on to top the new issue of the Official UK Album Chart.

Full story below…

Jade, Perrie, Leigh-Anne, and Jesy have ample cause to jubilate. Because not only has the ‘Shout Out To My Ex’ led LP rocketed to the top; it’s done so with huge numbers.

Amassing a combined sales-plus-streaming figure of 96,000, the feat sees Little Mix earn the biggest sales debut for a girl-group since the Spice Girls released ‘Spice World’ in 1997. That LP opened with 192k in the UK.

‘Glory’ is also the fastest selling record by a girlgroup since Destiny’s Child‘s ‘Survivor’ in 2001. [Source]

please! These no names could never be destinys child or the spice girls. They’re barely the Cheetah Girls

    • Boosie November 25, 2016

But clearly they can even if it’s sales wise

    • ? November 26, 2016

Im stll mad they didn’t release RED PLANET

  2. Hur November 25, 2016

I like The Saturday’s. Girls Aloud and Sugababes better from the U.K. To be honest.

    • Metzo November 25, 2016

Litlle Mix are easily the best girl group vocal wise rn

Don’t sleep listen to acoustics of Little Mix they are slick with the vocals. Leigh-Anne especially has come a long way. Salute my more favoured album but they did great bringing some more edgy sounds to songs like Down & Dirty and Power.
    Well Done!

    • Dawn November 25, 2016

RIGHT, KELLY WHERE IS JUNES DIARY, WELL KELLY CAN BARELY MANAGE HER OWN CAREER, SO I DONT KNOW WHY WE PUT MUCH PRESSURE ON HER TO MANAGE JUNES DIARY TO BE A SUCCESS

      • Ughhhh November 25, 2016

Kelly put Little Mix together! And Kelly has amazing albums she spends more time having to deal with competing because you all always compare her to her band mate rather than comparing her to her last album, in which she always delivers better each time

      Get back from Mars!

Little Mix has never had successful US album sales due to their limited exposure stateside. However, let’s not act like streaming has not saved Fifth Harmony and to be honest Little Mix in my own subjective opinion has always been vocally superior to 5th Monotone.

    • Boosie November 26, 2016

Your comment would be the same if reversed and little mix would have greater sales that 5th harmony in the U.K. That being said, the biggest music market in the world elected Donald Trump. Don’t shout from the roof tops just yet

    • Playa November 26, 2016

Same label so clearly they’ll market 5H more for USA and Little Mix for Europe. Both they’ll let compete on in Australia, Asia and other markets.

  8. Paulo November 25, 2016

YAAAAAAAASSSS! huge props to the girls! let the thirsty comment box in TGJ seethe and may many more #1 records come for them.

    • lolhart November 25, 2016

Surprised you managed to buy the album sweetie. I guess servicing men in the slums of Rio pays better than I thought.

      • Paulo November 25, 2016

so saying men are willing to pay for these goodies is your drag? lmao don’t be jealous honey I’m sure if you spent less time seething over my font and real talent like Little Mix and more time at the gym you could actually lose your virginity before 2050. but yes honey I’m PAID and I’m good thank you mwah

Ya’ll be reaching with these record breaking posts. Next it will be “Fifth Harmony breaks the record for most fierce album covers by a female girl group in the UK”…Like, really?

    • Paulo November 25, 2016

Spiceworld came out in 1997 and Survivor 2001 – nearly twenty/precisely fifteen years ago, at a time when sales numbers were way bigger. I’d agree if this was about Rita Ora or whoever else but Little Mix’s really doing something

    Good for them

  11. Jomega November 25, 2016

I think this album is their best overall — I enjoy all of the songs but two (which are at the start of the album strangely enough) and several of the tracks rival some of Little Mix’s best (‘Power’, ‘Freak’, and ‘FU’ are up there with ‘Move’, ‘Salute’, and ‘Hair’ IMO).

These girls are immensely talented vocally (listen to their impromptu radio performances and acoustic sets on YouTube) and this album is definitely in the right direction for me. I want to see LM continue to be daring and expand beyond their young fanbase. They have the sass, talent, and looks for it.

  12. King B November 26, 2016

Wow! Congrats! Their last album also did very well, not sure but it’s around 600k? Their tour also did well. I underestimate them.

  13. Playa November 26, 2016

But the gag is this also beat 1st week sales of Views and Lemonade in UK and they love those 2.
Syco should sort USA promo better as LM are also the more successful global act. Shout out to my ex acoustic is bomb though. For a small country compared to The States the Brits stepped up for LM 96,000 is large
