We’d have loved to see a narrative play out given how piercing the lyrics are. Yet, considering how current the drama in her life is, any such approach would have seen the story depicted taken literally. Something that perhaps wouldn’t bode well legally – especially with her former boo claiming he’s being made to look the villain.
In any case, it’s simple and effective. An updated ‘Not Gon’ Cry’ somewhat. Hopefully, it gifts the song solid streams.
