Prince‘s estate has declined Jay-Z’s offer to buy the rights to the late star’s music.

Full story below…

Following his death several entities launched bids to purchase the Purple one’s catalog. One of these was Jay-Z and his Tidal streaming service.

Unfortunately, the rapper’s hopes were dashed to purple flames recently when his estate declined his sizeable offer.

Sources close to the singer tell ‘TMZ’:

It  has no interest in letting Roc Nation to exploit any of the intellectual property assets of the Estate.

There’s more.

For, the estate now has set its sights set on money it believes Jay owns them for making Prince’s music (15 albums to be exact) available on Tidal without its permission.

TMZ adds:

The estate does acknowledge Prince made a deal with Jay for the 2015 release of his final album, “HitNRun Phase One” — but also says it hasn’t found proof of a $750k payment to close that deal.

why is that, why are we so happy when someone says no to someone when it comes to certain things.

  3. B2B November 13, 2016

with streaming taking over how valuable could it be… just my opinion but maybe a lifetime movie or very dramatic movie to send to theaters but biopics are rarely that good.

i don’t know why tidal is not doing real good. Maybe cus it’s too expensive. I guess.

Prince is a legend and all but he and now his estate are doing absolutely nothing for his legacy. It’s sad to say but Prince’s music will be forgotten

    • tackalicous November 13, 2016

Prince’s music will never be forgotten honey. Maybe that water down trash that u consider music that is currently forgettable will be forgotten. It’s already a memory in my book. Have several seats dear…

      • BonBon November 13, 2016

Being that this is only the 3rd thread I’ve posted under, what watered down trash music is it that I’m listening to since you know so much?
As I was saying, if you talk to most, emphasis on most, people under 25 they have very limited knowledge of Prince & his music due to him making his music widely unavailable on platforms that they use. If you paid attention to his death most people who cared were actually 30+ so in fact I’m being generous when I say under 25. Now you have a seat and sip slow..

You kids under 25 have a lot to learn. I feel sorry for you jaded, entitled millennials

Oops…Carters aren’t paying anyone I guess. No wonder Rihanna and Kanye jump ship and put their albums on other streaming sites.

Beyonce will be forced to go on another tour, Jay is bankrupting this family.

Will Rihanna go bankrupt also? Like she did back in 2009? #RocNation

      • Mark111 /.\ November 13, 2016

What does Rihanna has to do with Jay Z’s failed business deals?

      • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler November 13, 2016

Rihanna is one of his employees. Plus, LB brought up bankruptcy. Soo….

      • Mark111 November 13, 2016

It’s the other way around. Rihanna has her own label and Roc Nation is her management that she can (and should) fire at any moment. And LB said bankruptcing the family, Rihanna isn’t a part of that family. At the end, you just did the most to drag Rihanna into this when she have nothing to do with the Caters bad or failed business decisions. There’s not even a receipt of the Prince Tidal deal. Just shows that drop outs are just that. Focus on that. ?

      • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler November 13, 2016

The Carter’s aren’t nor have they ever been bankrupt *sips tea*. Oh, and as long as Rihanna is calling up Jay and having him “close the deal ” he’s her boss.

Praise God! That offer was atrocious! And I am in my 20’s and woke on Prince! He’s a legend with Classic records period!

  10. Bb8835 November 13, 2016

…..but they sold Prince estate to Universal Records, which was probably the highest bidder. It’s not rocket science

  11. King November 13, 2016

I feel like Beyonce and jay has separate accounts and a joint account it would only be right since they make a lot of money and their is a lot at sake so….
However watch Apple offer the same deal and try to get it too

  12. MsYonce November 13, 2016

Beyoncé definitely has her own account where she puts her OWN money she’s been in the game for a longggg time. And Ms Tina right over her daughters shoulder guiding her. Lol y’all think He’s spending Her money loooool

    • Mark111 /.\ November 13, 2016

But that 1 billion net worth is from BOTH. So yea, he is spending THEIR money.

  13. MsYonce November 13, 2016

Y’all need to stop thinking that everything Jay does Bey is involved like it’s so stupid….
