It’s been ten years since fans of Fergie have had their hands on an official LP from the singer/songwriter and, for a while there, it was looking like it was going to be another ten years before they could boast ownership of ‘Double Dutchess’ – the official follow-up to her chart-topping debut solo project, ‘The Dutchess.’
Reportedly finished as early as March 2016, the album has had many false starts (see: ‘LA Love,’ ‘Hungry,’ ‘M.I.L.F. $’). Now, after the release of the tune ‘Life Goes On,’ Fergie Ferg took to Facebook to tell fans she’s finally ready to launch her second solo era.
“I am so ready for this album to come out you have no idea,” she said. “I’ve turned it in. It’s done and it’s coming out the beginning of the year. I’m sorry it’s taken so long, to those of you who have been waiting…”

I miss the days when artists put out buzz singles to test the market before investing money in videos and promo for flop singles only to have no more promo budget left to put out an album after their singles fail.

Artists shouldn’t go 10 years into between albums. Hope it’s solid.
I hate how people keep saying she waited 10 years. Yeah she did but she also is a part of a group and put out two albums and toured the world with them in between. I don’t think thats any small feat. Its not liek she has been sitting on her ass for 10 years, that said the run for her debut basically ended in 2008 anyway after a 2006 release of the album.
I don’t think anyone is seriously counting the years in between. What people are alluding to is that in this era of music consumers the attention span is very short. That is why artists have to put out an album almost every year if they want to be relevant. Long gaps don’t work in today’s music climate
