Essence Festival 2017: Solange, Diana Ross, Mary J. Blige & John Legend Lead Line-Up

Published: Thursday 15th Dec 2016 by David

Solange, Mary J. Blige and John Legend are to rock their fans’ worlds at next year’s Essence Festival.

Awesome news below…

The event will celebrate its 23rd birthday in New Orleans next year and has invited the aforementioned acts along for the celebratory ride.

Joining them for fun in the Cajun sun when the fest arrives in July 2017 is Diana Ross, India Arie, Jazmine Sullivan and Chaka Khan as well as a number of artists who will sign on to do the same in the coming months.

For Mary, the event will serve as a promotional platform for her next studio album and the tour many expect her to build to support it.

For Solange and John?

A chance to deliver live renditions of songs pulled from their new albums (‘A Seat at the Table‘ and ‘Darkness and Light’) to fans months after their respective release dates.

We’re looking forward to it!

Omg, I’ve never seen Boss Ross live! Although I’m not from her era, that don’t stop me from being borderline obsessive with her! Funny thing is Chaka comes in second to her when it comes to my 70’s and beyond favs! I’d love to see this show! Of course, I’m definitely here for Solo! *wink*
