After two weeks of dominating the Billboard 200 thanks to holiday album sales and streams, vocal group Pentatonix gets pushed out of the top spot by The Weeknd‘s latest set ‘Star Boy.’

The project, his second chart-topper, debuted at #1 six weeks ago and stayed there for a week before being ousted by the competition.  This week, however, courtesy of some serious streaming, the album has been lifted back to the chart’s perch.

Billboard reports:

‘…[‘Star Boy’] climbs from No. 2 to No. 1 (for a second week in the penthouse) with 69,000 equivalent album units (down 26 percent) earned in the week ending Jan. 5, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 18,000 were in traditional album sales (down 46 percent)…

Look below to see who joins the Canadian crooner in the top 25 of this week’s Billboard 200:

Anti still in the top 20 just two weeks from a year after being released. May even reenter top 10 again on the one year mark. 🙂

Congrats to Selena’s man (lol 2017 is certainly off to an interesting start). Seems like it’s trendy to hate on The Weeknd now but Star Boy is his most balanced album in my opinion. I’m glad he didn’t stay in the niche that got his following but is willing to try more mainstream sounds. Also impressed to see Dangerous Woman still in the top 20 over 8 months later. It just landed 1.3 billion combined streams on Spotify. If Rihanna is the Queen of Streams, Ariana is definitely the Princess of Streams.

The most successful anyone becomes, the more hate they receive. It’s basically jealousy, because they’re lacking in their life.

Thought she was forgotten? Anti has replay value. As for lemonade. That kid lasted as long as expected. Fizzlled away. This is the perfect time for Rih to drop another visual and give close to you some single treatment. Can easily be a hit.

      Actual sales>Streaming.
Anti is only in it’s position due to streams and streams only. Meanwhile Lemonade continues to outsell it stateside and internationally.Plus Lemonade is a tidal release only.
The same people are streaming Anti over and over, while different people are actually buying Lemonade. So delusional.

If that’s so, then why did Lemonade debut with 30% sales decrease than Beyonce, and continue to trail significantly in sales in respective time?

It’s a shame that she will never see nor experience half of Adele or Taylor Swift’s actual sales margin, considering ‘LEMONADE’ has sold less than ‘BEYONCE’ did in 12 months with even less/worst singles/radio success.

      .

      It’s amazing, isn’t it? 😘

You silly queens compare streams to actual sales to make a point. It’s 2017 get with the flow, rihanna is breaking down barrier’s and the first to do most things as Beyonce fans shop at Walmart for CDs. Like artist, like fans brings nothing new. Same olé s***… 😒👍
