Pop powerhouse Ariana Grande may have won a thumbs up from Celine Dion when she took to ‘The Tonight Show’ to impersonate the ‘My Heart Will Go On’ belter, but we’re curious to see how the pop legend’s fans will feel about a reported forthcoming cover of another one of her most beloved hits.

Word has it Grande is set to tackle Dion and Peabo Bryson‘s Academy and Grammy Award winning hit ‘Beauty and Beast’ – the title track to the 1991 animated version of the film.  Now, as Disney fans prepare for the March 2017 live action adaptation of the classic, they’re greeted with news its soundtrack is set for a revamp as well:

Via Cosmo:

On Tuesday, Ari took to Instagram to announce (with a wilted rose emoji, no less) that she will sing on the official soundtrack for Disney’s live-action version of Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens. Hits Daily Double reports that Ari and John Legend will record a 2017 remake of the Disney classic’s title track first made famous by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson.

Playbill reports:

Disney will release the deluxe edition soundtrack for its live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast March 17, 2017, the same day the film arrives in theatres.

A two-CD version will be available, while Disney is also offering another deluxe version of the soundtrack with an exclusive 12” x 12” lithograph featuring original imagery from the film. That edition, according to Disney, will ship on or around a March 10 release date.

Before fans can get their hands on the tracklist for the film’s official soundtrack, they’re invited to check out its trailer:

    Hopefully she enunciates lol

Coming from an Iggy fan this is a bit ironic

      • Fancy BISH January 11, 2017

Iggy helped give Ariana her biggest hit, let’s not forget boo boo lol

      • leveinard January 11, 2017

Doesn’t change the fact Iggy spends more time trying to maintain her fake accent than speak properly. And that’s just during the time she’s busy wondering where the fvck her career went.

NO NONO! Ariana helped IGGY! Let’s not pretend that people remember Onle Less Problem because of iggys verse…

    • Fancy BISH January 12, 2017

“Does anyone really know what she’s singing in the verses on “Problem?” Didn’t think so. Simply put, Grande has the most beautiful and awe-inspiring gibberish ever recorded….In honor of Grande’s new batch of poorly-pronounced (yet masterfully sung) tunes, we tried to decipher the most muffled lyrics on seven of her songs.” -VH1

I’m excited to hear what a collaboration between John Legend and Ariana would sound like. No doubt it will be great!

Not here for it. Nothing can come close to Celine and Peabo’s version! And if you’re going to remake it, why not enlist Xtina, Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Rowland, Emeli Sande, or even P!nk?

    • Dreazy Baby January 11, 2017

Girl they didn’t cause they didn’t want to girl. Simple

    • King Z January 11, 2017

Xtina? Kelly Rowland? No ma’am. Girl, I’m sure they actually WANT people to listen to it

    • Grande the Way January 11, 2017

      Kelly Rowland? Pink? Lol what?

This will be very underwhelming. I prefer Usher and Christina Aguilera

    • Cough Cough January 11, 2017

Christina Aguilera in 2002 when she was used soprano for sure, but current christina? She will be Screaming her highest note in the first 30 seconds and do the same runs she’s been doing for like 10-15 years now. This song requires a soprano not an alto and christina is definitely an alto now

      • Cough Cough January 11, 2017

When she used to be a soprano*****

      • Grande the Way January 11, 2017

Christina has toned down the belting a lot, I think being on the Voice helped a lot. Look at songs like Anywhere But Here, Say Something, and Telepathy. She seems a lot more controlled now

      • Meteorite January 11, 2017

I come humbly when I say this; Christina Aguilera is a Soprano, but she has a dark timbre to her voice, so some may mistaken her as a Contralto. Also she sing softly and be reserved when it is called for. In addition when she does a cover song (and she’s done several, The Voice included) she’s pretty faithful to the original arrangement. (And if you need references I can send you a list.) Its really her songs she tends to be…extra if you will.

      • Cough Cough January 12, 2017

@meteorite: christina is an alto that can sometimes hit soprano notes and most often it’s strained. If she were in a choir the director would put her in the alto section.

    • Cough Cough January 11, 2017

@grande: yet and still she’s not a vocal fit for this song in 2017. It’s just not for her vocal dynamic.

  5. Cough Cough January 11, 2017

This will be nice. Johns voice is beautiful, rich, soulful and one of the best in the game. And Ariana sings her little face off and can make her voice sound big and ethereal, as well, which is what the song needs. Great!

  6. Meteorite January 11, 2017

Nothing against John or Ariana but this a huge NO in my book! The original is sensational the way it is! Not to mention it was lauded by film and music critics and won Grammys, Golden Globes, and Academy Awards etc. Shouldn’t it’s legacy be sign enough to leave it alone? Why do they feel the need to redo everything? If you want to introduce something to a newer generation, just re-release it!

    • Danny Bey January 12, 2017

Bc the movie is a remake as well. It only makes sense. Y’all find any and everything to complain about.

  7. @ASAPicon January 12, 2017

    Here for IT

  8. Meme January 12, 2017

I’m here for it as well. People will never be happy with anything. Both Ariana and John are 2 of today’s better vocalist and are pop relavant in pop culture. Very great choice. And I’m pretty sure they are trying to duplicate the 1st version, but make it their own, fresh and new. Bye haters

  9. Chad January 12, 2017

Something unexpected like Adele and Bruno with a new arrangement would have been amazing.
