New Song: Lost Kings & Tinashe – ‘Quit You’

Published: Saturday 28th Jan 2017 by Nehemiah

Tinashe dives in the vibrant waters of EDM for a collaboration with LA duo Lost Kings.

Deemed ‘Quit You,‘ the single is coated with colorful simple synth over an 80’s inspired-beat.

Did Tinashe deliver? Listen below…

It’s decent effort, but for some reason, this sugar-Pop Tinashe seems too forced. Contrived too.

Is it wrong  to want the 23 year-old to stick to alternative R&B with Pop sprinklings? After all, her best work exemplified the R&B aesthetic with convincing mainstream appeal.

Still, with her own album still missing in action, we must give kudos for her finding ways to keep her name in the mix.

Your thoughts?

This sounds great. The lyric video is just like Pills N Potions lyric video tho

While this isn’t music I’d want to hear on her album… I like it.. it reminds me of closer! And if that can record could go number 1.. hopefully this can get this to chart with the right exposure.

Sidenote: I really want her to get a new team and a little edge to her soooooo bad

It sounds like a POP SMASH!
But tbh I’ve been the most realest stan by saying I ain’t a fan of the direction for this new album as it STILL seems like RCA is gearing up another POP single for Tinashe to release by next month or so. I want “How Many Times”, “2 On”, & “Vulnerable” vibes as I know it’ll be there but those aren’t the ones they’ll be pushing for a single.

I really want it to happen for her, I don’t care enough to be a fan I’m just a casual listener, I don’t think it’s going to happen for her. It’s been so long and she’s still consider as a new artist. I can even pin point the probably directly but it’s like she’s something we already have. She might sustain as a moderate hit artist but I don’t think she’ll be as big as everyone wants her to be.

The music in the hook sounds like the Chainsmokers song. It’s decent but I just hate when people keep following trends. The music industry be so stale and uninspired. Geez.

Lol who keeps pumping money into this girl. Most labels would’ve dropped her. Sorry to her fans.

This the problem with Tinashe…her voice and music has no personality or uniqueness. I bet $5,000 that if you asked to identify her voice in a blind test…if you say could you’re a damn lie. She sounds like every other up and coming Youtube/Soundcloud artist on the market. Sadly, it’s not going to happen for her. Just way too too generic.

This is the type of music she started out with long before she became known and started putting out mixtapes. This song is good in my opinion. Now if she passed it on to Halsey, people would eat it up smh.
