New Song: Major Lazer – ‘Run Up (ft. Nicki Minaj & PARTYNEXTDOOR)’

Published: Thursday 26th Jan 2017 by Sam

Nicki Minaj has promised a slew of fresh material in 2017 and kicks things off with a fire-filled feature on Major Lazer‘s new single ‘Run Up.’

Also boasting OVO’s PARTYNEXTDOOR on its line-up, the flavorsome track follows the group’s summer smash ‘Cold Water.’

As for Nicki, she aims to please with her pen-game, spitting:

“He call me Queen, he know “nicki” is the monicker. He want a mix between Hillary & Monica. Switch it up…RIP the beat, then I STITCH it up

Take a listen below…

Out at retail tomorrow, this sounds like a hit in waiting.

Yasss.Nicki’s verse though, straifht fire. Giving me the “Nicki I fell in love with” vibes

  2. Beyonnaise January 26, 2017

    She’s a p******** supporting wh#re

    • JustCoastWitHa January 26, 2017

lmao How can one’s 15 minutes of fame be over when there’s a 4th album due THIS year?

      • Ciah’s Turtle January 26, 2017

        This ❗️

    • Meme January 26, 2017

15 mins? When you’ve been killing the game consecutively since 09 and you are currently killing the chart. How?

      • Beyonnaise January 27, 2017

Killing the game with thousands of features and yet still no no 1 LMAO

pedophíle supporting, gay bashing wh#re she is

  3. Datredd23 January 26, 2017

Sounds like this years Work rip off lol

    • JustCoastWitHa January 26, 2017

At least the person who wrote “Work” is on this song. lol

      • Caribbean native January 27, 2017

And that’s ya weak ass come back ?

  4. DC3 FOREVER January 26, 2017

It’s cool but for it to be Nicki PARTY & Lazer I expected it to be a lot more. This will do good for a little bit because it’s repetitive but it won’t be a huge smash tho

    • Ciah’s Turtle January 26, 2017

I was expecting more, beat wise.

    • FAF January 26, 2017

      Agree it’s a top 10 but not a top 5

Bc pnd isn’t quite big enough yet to carry it

      • chineywhiney94 January 27, 2017

it’s TOP FLOP unless nicki sneaks in some shots showing her fake b00ty for views n clicks.

  5. chineywhiney94 January 26, 2017

don’t like it. nicki should do a song in her own native accent. trinis doh sound like so. wannabe jamaican

    • IIDONOTREPLY2TROLLz January 26, 2017

If Rihanna, Foxy Brown and also non carribean lil Kim gets away with it then other Caribbean chicks can. Also can people stop saying this is dancehall. Insulting my roots.

      Lil Kim – Durty/

Foxy Brown – Tables will turn
      Rihanna – Work
Nicki Minaj – Beam me up scotty.

      • Caribbean native January 27, 2017

Shut tf up u don’t know shot…talking about roots…..ya parents bro from hetr ….u sint never been to the island stop convenientlyrics claiming bih

      • chineywhiney94 January 27, 2017

exactly like you said “getting away with it” as in not being true to your own culture/talk, swaggerjacking off Jamaica bc it’s more marketable. if onika was really that bish she’d sing in she sweet trini accent real, real nice. be the first female rapper with a top song on billboard rapping in trinidadian creole but noooo, she wanna be trendy and not innovative. dotish woman.

  6. SWISH January 26, 2017

anybody notice all these dancehall singles being released now? ?

    • Jamie January 26, 2017

Because everybody knows it’s a guaranteed spring/summer smash. It’s smart. However, I just wish the real dancehall artists would come back because these watered down artists’ execution are lackluster and inauthentic.

      • Jamie January 26, 2017

However, this song won’t be that.

  7. Danzou January 26, 2017

I want expecting much beat wise cuz its major laser. He’s not hip Hop he’s dance hall. Anyway, to the h** who wanna talmbout fifteen minutes, you ain’t got FIVE minutes. How is her fifteen minutes up yet last year she made 20.6 million dollars off of her name alone? No tour no album. She made three remixes chart and that’s it. Just remixes. Lol but OK.

  8. FormationNavy January 26, 2017

She can do it, but she’s really gonna have to bring the heat this go round and really prove herself like never before!….probably more then her debut album ????

  9. Wonder Woman January 26, 2017

    Trash as expected
    .
Not #1 material and Def not grammy material… like half and a quarter of her music… she could of kept this

    • Wonder Woman January 26, 2017

      have*

      • BOOBIE January 26, 2017

Hun you don’t have to correct your typos because nobody else is reading your wack comments, except for me because I got time today ho.

    • JustCoastWitHa January 26, 2017

      oh yea, cause this isn’t a feature. It’s Nicki’s song. Solo..right ?

  10. Kwinzy January 26, 2017

Well, well, well… I know the barbz been waiting for me?. It’s kinda, sorta a safe bop. Good verse Nicki but I wanna see you challenge yourself with a Trini accent for once. Everybody & they moms wanna be Jamaican cuz we the sh!t? Hook was repetitive af but i still fuks wit it.

    • Danzou January 26, 2017

      Patwah is trini you idiot.

      • Kwinzy January 26, 2017

I know you’re not tryna school me about my own west indian talk, Mr Detroit. Trinis speak different from Jamaicans. The end. Many Trinis bring up Nicki not repping their “small” island right for this reason. We all know Nicki’s a good impersonator. She too gwanny gwanny.

    • Caribbean native January 27, 2017

Your right……she can never mimic a trini accent….it’s actually one of the hardest to mimic….heck here mom don’t even speak “trini” no more…..she needs to listen some soca……and fyi…..many other caribbean countries speak exactly like jamaicans so it’s not unique to them….jus yall hear it from jaicans more

  11. sleazy January 26, 2017

Yes Ms minaj you better snatch live for her verse

  12. BangBang January 26, 2017

She made he whole song better!

  13. Rihboy January 26, 2017

It’s catchy!! That’s all I have! It’s cute that dancehall is kind of making its way back. Well dancehall with a twist. I love party next door! He’s amazing! LyricAlly weak, but nickis part makes the song!

  14. Tokyo Vanity fan (formerly new) January 26, 2017

This is no Cheville Franklin and Beenie Man…

    • Kwinzy January 26, 2017

Bam! Bam! Bam! Mi love off dat classic chune deh.

  15. Ronnie January 26, 2017

I can’t wait for the video! Please don’t start with Nicki is following the dancehall trend for a hit she been doing it since 2010.

    • SWISH January 26, 2017

lmao chile please, she following trends

  16. Caribbean native January 26, 2017

I’m trinidadian. ….and these false accent and typical tryna be island beats is pretty pretensive

  17. BOOBIE January 26, 2017

    LOVED it. Mass appeal.

  18. BEY>RIH January 26, 2017

Generic but its a bop and Nicki’s verse is great. I see it being a top 10 in like a month.

  19. @ASAPicon January 27, 2017

    Its good

  20. @ASAPicon January 27, 2017
