New Video: Fantasia – ‘When I Met You’

Published: Friday 27th Jan 2017 by Sam

Fantasia serves up a cinematic family affair in the video for new single ‘When I Met You.’

Directed by Derek Blanks, the visual features the singer’s husband Kendall Taylor and daughter Zion. Cairo, the son of ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ star Sheree Whitfield also appears.

Boasting a nostalgic-to-now theme, the clip sees the American Idol graduate (and her co-stars) flex their acting muscles. And rather well, at that.

Fantasia is SLAYING!!! This is a #1 hit! Radio needs to play this song and she needs to perform this on the talk show circuit!!!

    Yesss FANTASIA!!!

This is one of her best videos I’m very impressed, she definitely exceeded my expectations. Hopefully this can become a hit and get albums streams. She may had her worst album but her visuals are making huge progress.

I am now BALD! My edges have been snatched off by the QUEEN! It’s like Fantasia is the only one really making that timeless R&B music. This song feels like that 90s R&B. I really hope the industry/radio embraces this song. We need to bring real music BACK! Go head, Tasia! Love you, Girl!

I got to give it to Fantasia. Issa SLAY! Love the song and the video makes me love it more. Anybody who says anything negative is just hating. She looks so happy with her husband too.

I hate that this won’t get a push at hip hop and Rb stations, it be lucky if adult radio plays it, fantasia doesn’t have a major team behind such a gigantic talent , but they will run love on the brain Inna whole, all we we really here is rihanna and Beyonce on the radio, er are brainwashed with their artistry to a point where we can’t appreciate good soul music like this…. Kudos fantasia, I hope u prosper

There alot of r&b girls coming out with new album this 1-3 quarter but majority of them are signed to stupid ass Epic Records for god sake so…WE HAVE TO SUPPORT THEM.AND NOT JUST THEM, ALL THE FEMALE ARTIST. Trey and Chris can get air play, streams, some sales, ticket sales etc. so damn easily but woman artist worked themselves to death, LITERALLY, just for a few stream. When I see good artist making relevant yet true music, I support.

Part of me really wants Fantasia to go the Tina Turner route. I feel like rock music would suit her and her voice more than R&B. Rock and Jazz are her musical niche. If she crossover to rock fully, she could finally be the star that she was destined to be. Not all black artist is meant to do R&B. R&B is holding her back. I blame her team in the beginning of her career. I think they just placed her in the R&B category just because she’s black and they wanted another Mary J. Blige.

Fantasia’s daughter Zion is one gorgeous girl. If she doesn’t follow in her mother’s footsteps and sing, Zion could model.

    This album is trash!

Beautiful song and video! Her hubby is foine too. The Definition Of isn’t trash, it’s just different. I want her to go full blown Tina Turner/female Bruno Mars on us for the next album and hopefully we won’t have to wait another three years for it.

Fantasia is going on tour with Charlie Wilson and Johnny Gill in February. She said after the tour, she is going back into the studio to start working on her next album.
