Mariah Carey‘s E! docu-series ‘Mariah’s World’ set off to a promising start last month. Yet in recent weeks fans have been turned off by the increasing lean towards soap opera antics.
Indeed, as the singer attempts to spin her break-up from billionaire businessman James Packer, the show has focussed less on her ‘Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour’ and more on her blossoming “relationship” with dancer Bryan Tanaka.
And with the finale set to air this Sunday, a preview teaser has sent some fans into a fit of fury.

Like, if Mimi wanted to the reality route, go all out. Don’t brand it a “docu-series” to seem “above” the common-folk only for scenes like this surface. It’s rather embarrassing.
We’re not ones to knock anyone’s hustle. After all, sales (not just Mariah’s) are down across the board. Hence, it’s actually very smart and lucrative for her to be anchoring her name in the touring and TV arenas.
She should just be sure to do it right.
In any case, with new Mimi music due imminently, hopefully she can shift the focus to that help us forget this mess ever happened.

Mariah should have shown more SINGING on this show, at the piano, just sing and stop hiding 3. Faded or Make it look good should have been showcased – they are radio friendly
Mariah Carey is extremely gifted but this show is non-sense – show some vocals, some singing, stop cut and pasting — the tribute to Prince was One Sweet Day – and that was not shown. Stella, what are you doing honey
I have to agree with everything you said, this show is a missed opportunity. 8 episodes in and we’ve barely heard her sing, which is insane as she sounded phenomenal all tour:/ Also, I agree with you re: song choices. This was the perfect platform to display some of her more recent material and instead we get Hero over and over and over. I don’t mind the acting or the scripted moments. I don’t even mind the James Packer spin or Stella’s frequent airtime.., but Mariah is Mariah because of the God Given talent and we’ve missed that. The focus is on the wrong stuff.

No, The New Years performance was obviously a hot topic. But that wedding performance was absolutely irrelevant, as many of these other posts he does about her. Obviously. He never makes a post with her good performances throughout the months in her tours for example.

For starters why are you bringing up sales when discussing her docu series? Two, you wanted this to fail badly and it didn’t. Part of this was like a docu series & the other portion was kind of like an acting gig. But this was decent for what it was. Sam needs some hits and went fishing for an irrelevant story once again. This site is dry. She has shown other sides of herself, so keep reaching for a story Sam. You’re an idiot. You exaggerate everything that she does. You’re embarrassing yourself with these pointless write ups. They always flop. Lastly, how does she go all out for this show? She’s done enough. So you failed again.
I feel like a lot of this was created after she ended it with James. It was supposed to be about her tour and her planning the wedding, but then they broke up. So a new “storyline” needed to be fabricated hence the whole Bryan Tanaka love interest.
