Word on the curb is that Iggy Azalea is looking for a new leader for her career.

Dive below for details…

The news comes courtesy of Hits Daily Double, who’ve proven infallible in their ability to hear (and turn the volume up on) industry whispers.

It’s not entirely far fetched either.

Things have been far from smooth sailing for the Australian femcee.

Indeed, after owning the airwaves for much of 2014 into ’15 with smashes such as ‘Fancy’ and ‘Black Widow,’ the rapper saw her stock and popularity dented deeply after a seemingly endless series of social media clashes with respected acts as Snoop Dogg and Q-Tip.

Attempting to embrace the melee and pivot the narrative in her favor, Azalea announced that her sophomore album would be titled ‘Digital Distortion.’

Set for release last summer, said plans were abruptly put on hold when lead single ‘Team’ (which we actually liked) failed to take off…anywhere.

In the interim, to line her pockets while licking her wounds, the 26-year-old signed up as a judge on The X Factor Australia. A move perhaps designed endear her to her home country, while giving the US mainstream a “break” from her.

With another swing of the bat said to be scheduled for this year, could new management be what she needs to give her career fresh perspectives and prospects?

What do you think?

good for her, a fresh start hopefully she has good people around her. Her team could’ve done MUCH better in avoiding a lot of the criticism and setbacks she faced if she had a more competent US based management, the fact she stick with a team from the UK whose biggest act before she had her breakthrough were Rita Ora or Ellie Goulding lmao the minute Fancy took off big time she shouldve also changed to someone more experienced in the us music industry, let alone the fact what comes w being a rapper. Im still rooting for Iggy, her music is dope

I like her. She just needs to stay off twitter and shut her mouth then she’ll be fine.

lol…but back on topic, I’m rooting for Iggy…just don’t employ the services of Pebbitone Management or Stella Bulochnikov! And Troy Carter did nothing for Meghan Trainor’s second era either lol #NO

oh and I dont believe this narrative:

“Set for release last summer, said plans were abruptly put on hold when lead single ‘Team’ (which we actually liked) failed to take off…anywhere.”

yea Team wasnt a big hit or anything but it build enough cute buzz for her to follow it up with a smash single featuring some other singer to get pop airplay and then immediately follow with the album in the Summer. the fact she went silent since Team proves it was not just that single underperforming the cause, she clearly didnt want to go out promote after her relationship/engagement fell apart and needed time for herself like she said – and also felt like recording new material to reflect her new state of mind..

    • Keri January 12, 2017

in fact I believe Team just went Gold in the US last month… so yea it was a cute single, it had potential and streams were nice despite the disappointing video for her standards. the song barely got any radio airplay support so thats why it didnt take off. but its not like it was a huge fail that made her label scrap her release lol just no, there were clearly other reasons behind the delay ..

    • CrimsonREDD January 12, 2017

Thank you! This blog stayed hyping up Black Barbies when Team had a higher debut in the US and charted more internationally. The bias is real. I like Iggy. She actually knows how to take a break.

      • Keri January 12, 2017

I dont know how this blog hyped up that Nicki song cuz Im not a regular visitor (even if I’m aware they’re known for being biased towards some artists like Nicki since the owners are longtime fans of hers or something) but thats not really a comparable situation, yea at the end of the day they were both singles released in the same platforms and could’ve easily taken off if they were going to but Team was always seen/promoted as a first single while Black Barbie was obviously a remix type of thing.

so sad for her career to be in such shambles so early on…it just goes to show she never had any real success or longevity. Tsk Tsk

    • Keri January 12, 2017

oh please, never had any real success? I dont think anyones ever claimed she was the most successful artist ever but she had a lot of success lol… I mean she went #1 and stayed there for weeks while also being featured on the #2 song, had a bunch of platinum singles and awards, was nominated in the general categories at the grammys, she may not be having the same type of success anymore but lets not reach with those statements either lol.

      • BeyKnowlesBest January 12, 2017

        who gone check me boo??

  4. YEAKELLY January 12, 2017

Team went GOLD in the US. This news isn’t really news. You guys try to construct a narrative that just isn’t so. From a music perspective, she’s not failed since her first official US single. However you may feel about this girl, clearly has no effect on the BUYING public, so either fall in line and stop reaching for page clicks or stop reporting on her, cuz the hate on this girl is “been had” and you guys look really pressed.

    • Keri January 12, 2017

I think they just mean it wasnt as big as her other hits, usually once artists reach a high peak most of their following releases are always compared to those successes as if its to see who can stay at the “top” consistently – which is obviously very hard for the most part. she can still manage a decent career of course even if she never reaches those highs again imo though

  5. SipTheTruth January 12, 2017

Her lane is poprap. She will never be respected as a rapper.

    • Dan January 12, 2017

true, but most rappers nowadays are pop rappers. I dont mean to say this negatively at all either, not shade or anything its just a fact which is why they’re topping the charts cuz pop radio is also playing their radio friendly top 40 material… at this point everything is a mix, theres no “pure” genres anymore especially if you want mainstream success. (and regardless I don’t think Iggy or anyone has a problem w being labeled a pop rapper either as long as they stay getting their coins most likely tbh)

  6. meme January 12, 2017

I feel bad for her. I really want her to win again, I don’t like seeing anyone fail. Maybe new management can revive her career. I still feel there may be hope. Anyone else seems to think shes finished.

    • Kwinzy January 12, 2017

Nah. Team went gold, she just gotta keep pushing.

  7. RCR81 January 12, 2017

Hmmmmm I don’t know what it is about this woman, but I find her particularly vile in all honestly (mainly her attitude).

If she keeps her trap shut, she might have a shot but she has a lot of work to put in for the GP to buy into it

    • Dan January 12, 2017

the GP are a non factor, theyll eat up whatever the press/industry feeds them. she just needs another hit and more importantly for radio to support it. nothing she’s done or said is any worse than someone like Justin Bieber has done or said worse, difference is he’s a male with a huge fanbase and programmers keeps supporting his radio candy hits. literally 90% of every big artist has flaws and for the most part annoying and insufferable personalities, you either are being deceived or you don’t hear about it.

      • RCR81 January 12, 2017

I’m not being deceived at all and I definitely hear about it, but I thought this post was about Iggy and Not Justin Bieber or any other artist for that matter

      • Dan January 12, 2017

@RCR81 I was just comparing it to an artist that keeps farting big hits to make that comparison in what the “GP buys into” or not, I could say his name or the Chainsmokers, and even other ladies who get negative press for some of their attitudes… its the same ish.

  8. Jj January 12, 2017

I love her and her music work pulled me in

    • PRESS January 12, 2017

WORK still sounds fresh to me to this day, soooo good !

  9. Jason January 12, 2017

    Not again!!! Girl..

    • PRESS January 12, 2017

Again? Isnt this her first time changing management teams? Lol

  10. J-Mar January 12, 2017

    Its over for iggy

  11. LiLi’n’RiRi January 12, 2017

Okay let’s face it thots, that Team video was horrid. She looked a hot mess and that car scene was just way too f****** much. And honestly videos is one of Iggy’s strengths so I think that had to do a lot w it too. And BeyKnowlesBest I’ll be happy to check you. Don’t act like Beyoncé never had that rough uncertain time in her career. Remember when she released Bow Down as a single. I’m pretty sure everybody was thinking wtf. Ain’t nobody liked that trash even You boo

    • LiLi’n’RiRi January 12, 2017

I’m talking before BEYONCÉ CAME OUT

  12. truthteller January 12, 2017

Well, she definitely needed new management. Whoever in her team thought doing that flop show X-Factor should have been fired. It certainly didn’t endear her to the Australian public

  13. @ASAPicon January 12, 2017

    Legit forgot about her…..

  14. BangBang January 13, 2017

I don’t think it’s going to work! She’s got too many people dying for her to fail in and out of the industry till it’s not funny! Every time someone mentions her name and she gets a little publicity people in and out of the industry just dump all over any little light she get at the end of the tunnel! It truely is a shame!
