#Katycats in need of a Katy Perry fix needn’t look any further than this Sunday’s Grammy Awards the Recording Academy confirmed today.
Taking to Twitter to lend the confirmation, the announcement follows weeks of speculation the singer’s new album – the follow-up to 2013’s chart-topping ‘Prism’ – was near completion and ready for launch.

After the Recording Academy’s official Twitter page reported the following:
Billboard followed with an announcement of its own.
“Perry is expected to premiere a new song called ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ featuring Skip Marley on Friday. It seems possible this could be the song she performs at this Sunday’s Grammy Awards.
Perry joins a long list of performers that includes Beyonce, The Weeknd, Daft Punk, Adele, John Legend, Metallica, Carrie Underwood, Bruno Mars, Keith Urban, John Legend, Anderson .Paak, A Tribe Called Quest and others. “

Excited though, people always drag her for making “mediocre” “manufactured” pop music but I’d much rather have that than whatever boring mess they are calling western pop music right now.
