Watch: Justin Timberlake Kicks Off The 2017 Oscars With ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ [Performance]

Published: Sunday 26th Feb 2017 by Sam

To some Justin Timberlake‘s ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ is one of the most annoying songs in recent memory. To others, it’s the smash that defined 2016.

Whatever side of the fence one sits on, the fact is that the song, issued as a single from the ‘Trolls’ soundtrack, is an Oscar nominated recording.

To celebrate said feat, JT opened Hollywood’s biggest calendar night with a spirited showing of the Max Martin production.

Watch him in action below…

Blah.

Kudos to Justin for attempting to provide a fresh twist to a chronically overplayed song. But it was a futile effort that ultimately fell flat.

The track, nominated or not, continues to grate and his performance did little to change that.

Whether win or lose, we’re ready for him to move on and focus on serving up music and performances that are worthy of the Pop superstar status he enjoys. Because, between this and his latest LP ’20/20,’ we remain underwhelmed.

Your thoughts?

Very disappointing opening for such an important show. He’s done better!

Side note: He needs to apologize to Janet!

Oooof. I cannot stand him. His career rose while janet was blacklisted. Very underwhelming performance! Very basic!

    • Lol February 26, 2017

Honey your comment is basic. Let that hurt go. That was 13 years ago. Get over it.

      • Jeans February 26, 2017

@ Lol, u mean basic like your looks?

  3. Surprise..(DEC 2013) February 26, 2017

  5. Lol February 26, 2017

Lmao why you mad tho?? I can’t wait to see him win so everyone in this site can seethe. It’s the oscars you idiot. What did u expect? And furthermore, he added a song most of y’all are too white to understand. BE MAD.

    • Jeans February 27, 2017

Im so tired of white mediocrity

  7. S****** Blonde February 26, 2017

I can feel the hate in the air, they wish him bad, they can’t wait to see him fall, from the writer of the article to the commentators, you can tell they’re mad about his nomination, don’t worry, he’s not going to win, stop wishing bad upon him, that’s an horrible thing.

    • Danzou February 26, 2017

No one’s wishing bad or hating. At all. Why do white people insist on deflecting. His song is basic and forgettable and obviously Payola made. Get real. He’s never been here for people of color yet mocks our music like he JUST did adding a trap section to this basic song that mysteriously made it to the Oscars.

    • The real February 26, 2017

Stfu. He’s talentless and wack, enough said.

  8. Now at youfr best game way tuesidnz February 26, 2017

He should do a remix to the song

He really scored a monster hit with this song, still charting after a year, at least he does some fun dancing. I respect that in interviews he always gives credit, unlike some other “songwriter”, when asked about what inspired “If I were a boy” she didn’t clarify she didn’t write the song, and in a concert said she wrote irreplaceable for her ladies.

    • Danzou February 26, 2017

Why are we deflecting from this mediocrity to bring a black woman down? He’s basic. Nuff said.

  10. Fancy BISH February 26, 2017

  11. Justafan February 27, 2017

    Pretty much a ‘Happy’ knockoff

  12. Theman February 27, 2017

Y’all got JT twisted. He’s hands down one of the best performers. Period. He did a very good job. Y’all be hating. Y’all praise Beyonce mediocre a** performances but hate on everyone else. What did y’all want a ‘Circus’ performance? He had the crowd moving. Justin is very talented.
