Now that’s out the way. We all know lemonade and 25 were going to be the best album of the year. Frank ocean always half asses to me and people think he is great for it. The same with JT. He has a right to an opinion (a respectful one at that) and shouldn’t be bashed by fans for it. With that being said, Frank Ocean’s Blond album was a bore and way too into himself for me to really listen and relate. I get that he’s introspective but I find him boring and pretensious. It’s become a cliché to say one prefers an artist’s older work after they crossover but I honestly think Nostalgia Ultra is his best musical output.
Not everyone thought that “Lemonade” was an epic album. So why is that a problem?

I’m with you on certain parts. Of the batch up for the award Beyoncé definitely had the more eclectic sound and covered many a bases. But it is politics as usual. But to get back to your main point I’m glad he didn’t submit… he gave fans of music r&b music that wasn’t centered around extreme promiscuity, being high all day… but about the ills of life.. I respect him for it.. as I respect Lemonade. My only gripe with Lemonade was the false marketing… she is never leaving her husband and she had woman feeling like they could be liberated and she is not doing it… but a solid album nonetheless

Most people would say, “Well, nobody asked him for his opinion.” And, while that’s true, I think even if he were asked and he replied the same way, people still would have something to say about it.
