Katy Perry To Headline BBC Radio 1 Festival

Published: Thursday 16th Mar 2017 by David

Katy Perry is to headline BBC Radio 1’s Festival this year!

Sweet news below…

The Pop vocalist will rock the Big Weekend on May 27th with support from Stormzy, Little Mix and Kings of Leon.

Hoping to support her next studio album, Perry booked the gig as her new single ‘Chained to the Rhythm‘ struggles to impact that charts as ferociously as her earlier hits ‘Roar‘, ‘California Gurls’ and ‘I Kissed a Girl.’

A release date for its parent is yet to be revealed.

However, what fans do know is that it is to see the star deliver her most socially-aware set to date with help from lyrics inspired by Donald Trump‘s presidential win and subsequent run.

Samantha don’t think you’re gonna get a pass for that “Celine praises Nicki”. STOP POSTING ABOUT NICKI MINAJ. Her songs are FALLING so hard on iTunes and they are not doing well. Let it go she is DONE.

Also, a .net site? C’mon Samantha use some of the money to get a .com so this trash site stops CRASHING

Back to the drawing board miss basic perry! Two years and the best you could do was CTTR? Sigh, these pop acts are really having a tough time, seems pop isnt as hot as it was in 2010. She needs to do an indie version of Teenage Dream, but then she hasnt got the talent for anything which is not nursery rhymes and disney bops.

Katy managed to survive gaga’s peak and coexisted in a Beyonce dominated world, but things wil get harder and harder for her, because she built her career based on hits, people will start see her songs not topping the charts and they’ll start to move on, just like they did with gags, she is no Beyonce.

    • gina March 16, 2017

really, is that why gaga scored a top 5 hit & sold out a stadium tour in minutes because people moved on from her? so why did all of beyonce’s minute maid singles struggle & flop like katy?

Hate her look this era. Ewww. Back to black please

Katy’s song was number four on the charts. It charted higher than anything off of Beyonce’s album. Every song that doesn’t reach number one isn’t a failure. A top ten hit is still huge.. On top of that LG’s latest single also charted higher than any of Beyonce’s prior singles from her last album. Furthermore. Beyonce has nothing to do with Katy because Beyonce’s last three albums didn’t have huge pop records on them..

Beyonce doesn’t do pop music. What has she got to do with this though

Stanning for chart positions is so 2011. But if you’re going to do it, make sure you don’t come for artists who may not perform well within the new chart guidelines but at the same time sell out stadiums (i.e. Gaga and Beyoncé). I can’t with people who keep referring to them as flops while their ‘chart topping’ faves are lucky to sell out an arena with tickets a third the price.

    • JOHNVIDAL March 17, 2017

Not only that but their faves are being either outsold real album copies wise or at least matched, despite not having the help of a hit on radio to support the era. A hit single is definitely the biggets promo an artist or album can have. It says a lot.

  10. Theman March 16, 2017

No one referred to Beyonce as a flop. Her silly stans always bring her up when it doesn’t make sense. Heck, LG’s album is doing a lot better than people are giving her credit for. Touring has nothing to do with certain points being made. Just as Katy has nothing to do with Beyonce.
