Nicki Minaj Claps Back At Trey Songz?

Published: Sunday 26th Mar 2017 by Sam

Trey Songz felt the sting of Nicki Minaj’s swarm of fans after critiquing the rapper in a recent interview.

Speaking on The Breakfast Club, the R&B playboy implied that Minaj’s guest feature on his song ‘Bottoms Up’ helped propel her career to new levels (and heights ironically higher than his).

He also took aim at Onika for coming at him after Remy Ma suggested he bedded her in the diss track heard around the world – ’Shether.’

Now, the head Barbz in charge is biting back. Albeit subtlety.

See what we mean below…

Writing to her 21 million Twitter followers, Minaj posed the following rhetorical question…

By no coincidence, Songz featured on the US leg of her 2015 ‘Pinkprint Tour’ as an opening act.

It begs the question: does Trigga opening for Minaj invalidate his original comment or nah?

Crying!!!!!!!! He really thinks he was bigger than her when Bottoms Up dropped? If so, what drastic change occurred that meant HE had to open up for HER arena tour a few years later? ?????????????

    • DeDot March 26, 2017

A few years later? You mean a few months later ?????

    • Truth(yaaasss honey) March 27, 2017

She is a total flop. Trey help her career!$

      • Jay March 27, 2017

        Wrong.

  2. grapejuicefan March 26, 2017

    ???

  3. steve March 26, 2017

She is giving him too much relevance for the no talent that he is. Dude can’t sing and ruins all his features. He should settle scores with August Alsina.

    • Truth(yaaasss honey) March 27, 2017

      No fraud flopped epically tho

  4. Barbie World March 26, 2017

Really! How delusional you have to be that you are automatically bigger than someone because you released more albums? How delusional do you have to be to think that you are bigger than someone who HIRED you to be their opening act After the song they featured in became your biggest hit. The same delusion that tells him that nobody knows that he is on the down low and has a very colorful history with the “girls” down in Atlanta.

It’s really fascinating to hear celebrities expose how big they think they are. If Trey thinks he’s bigger than Nicki how were his team able to convince him to open up for her when he did. They told him it was a joint tour? ??

  6. Citi March 26, 2017

In fact, I think the opposite happened with Bottoms Up. I know people who loved Nickis verse on that song and didn’t really care for Trey Songs until that dropped.

  7. Sugar Tetas March 26, 2017

This is why I always pray for discernment. I never want to be a delusional fool like Sister Tremaine.

  8. Jackie March 26, 2017

Well what he said is true. Bottoms Up did propel her career. And it did eventually pass his own. Same thing happened with Drake. Trey Songz was the first to put Drake on and then Drake surpassed him. “…told me I’d never be as big as Trey Songz; boy was she wrong. The fact that both Drake & Nicki surpassed Trey and he eventually opened for her doesn’t make the statement any less true. Bottoms Up did in fact help propel her career atleast in a mainstream way. She was already bubbling in the streets at that point.

    • Danzou March 26, 2017

nicki didn’t need him. if she did then he’d be featured on her albums rather than the other way around. he’s insecure. he tried it with r Kelly not too long ago too when he insinuated that he was slipping ahead of him.

    • Kiii March 26, 2017

Exactlyyyy. None of that is relevant. What he said remains true regardless. Nicki didn’t have s*** before Bottoms Up. She didn’t. She was not a successful solo artist and it was features that built her career. Each and every one of them helped her as she helped them. So you can miss me with the idea that a successful feature she did didn’t boost her career in any way, because if she could’ve became who she is today without them, she would have. How many years later and she still had to call on Wayne and Drake to help her make a diss track. The Bottoms Up collab was mutually beneficial. She was not an established force in the game at that time and I’d argue that the only reason why she is one now is because of the barriers to entry for female rappers, i.e., No competition.

    • Liam’s March 26, 2017

I could sworn it was either ther Robin Thicke feature or the usher feature. He needed her to sell that wack ass track

      • Kiii March 26, 2017

If you can’t specifically remember, then that wasn’t it, hun.

  9. BEYHIVE_MINAJ March 26, 2017

Bless his heart. He really thinks he’s more relevant than he really is.

  10. SAMANTHA NEEDS A NEW JOB March 26, 2017

this HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TREY! EVERYTHING to do with SAMANTHA writing stories to promote the FLOP that is ONIKA

    • Danzou March 26, 2017

      your avi reads itself.

    • Caleb March 26, 2017

Nah. That definitely was about Trey.

  11. Ronnie March 26, 2017

Lil Wayne put Nicki on. Stop it

  12. Black power March 26, 2017

She needs to humble herself! She needed her opening acts just as they needed her.. she had like 8 ppl opening for her in the US and STILLLLL couldn’t sell the places out. Nicki Minaj alone couldn’t sell out an arena.. even with 10 opening acts & Groupon deals

  13. Lmfao_Hoe March 26, 2017

I look at it like this. Trey has been in the industry (Trey Day first album back in 07) before Nicki. Before Pink Friday or Bottoms up in 2010, Trey was every girls fantasy guy. Cause lets not act like his Ready album wasn’t the s*** back in 09 while Nicki was just a upcoming and feature rap artist …anyone remembers 5 Star single or Bedrock? Was Trey not up for a Grammy but lost to Bey? lets keep it factual. Was his singles not charting – I invented s**, neighbors know my name, say ahh, successful, LOL smiley face ect.

    • SdotB March 27, 2017

Trey Day is not his first album, “I Gotta Make It” is his first, which came out in 2005.

  14. Fact Checker March 26, 2017

He WAS already an Established Artist when she featured on Bottoms Up prior to her releasing an album. That is a FACT! The problem is Nicki allowed her EGO to come into play which even caused him to even give his rebuttal on The Breakfast Club when she was talking about what she ‘gave him.’ The entire original argument could’ve been avoided had Nicki not lashed out at him or Twitter when her real issue was with Nicki. Also Nicki career’s catapulted after her solo album into the Pop World and Trey nor anyone disputed that so him being an opening artist for her years after Bottoms Up release doesn’t change the original facts. When will these artists learn the higher up you take your ego the harder it is when you eventually fade. Pop Fandom disappears over time as most of their fans are Tweens who will outgrow their music.

    • Kwinzy March 26, 2017

How was she established before Super Bass?? Get it together barbz

  15. BarrzFirst March 26, 2017

Oh gosh, for the 100000000th time, FU©K Nicki Minaj, nobody cares about her opening acts, but u people. *The DicRiders aka The Barbz*

  16. BarrzFirst March 26, 2017

I’ll be glad when they get older, and realize they too old for the barbie dolls. And what’s even more disturbing is majority of these “Barbz” are guys, and not straight ones either. Us straight dudes just wanna f*** Nicki Minaj???
We dont actually listen to her music though. Why? She raps like a cartooned prostitute. Anyone could’ve killed her, its just Remy did it first.

  17. B_Roni March 26, 2017

She needs to calm down nobody brags and does stuff like this. Beyonce and Rihanna throw shade but they do it in a way where you can tell that they aren’t pressed. Even when rihanna responds it’s in a different type of way. Nicki seems as if she is bothered by all these people. They are most likely doing it on purpose to keep their promo going whether it be good or bad. Trey and remy have both benefitted from this beef in some type of way.

  18. BEY>RIH March 26, 2017

I feel like Trey is insinuating that he basically made her career or put her on which isn’t the truth. He simply HELPED her career and did propel it along with all of her other features at the time. Onika quickly and easily surpassed him however and now is helping him by having him as an opening act for her mediocre tour… They both should appreciate each other instead of shading one another.

  19. Meme March 26, 2017

There is no doubt nicki made bottoms up. I recall being in the club and everyone’s waiting for nicki, including myself, to recite word to word nickis verse.

  20. March 26, 2017

Nicki needs to chill. Trey is right! She was buzzing but still known as the YMCMB girl with features. Massive attack came out and was underwhelming. Your love came out in June 2010 and did well but still didn’t take her to the top. bottoms up came out in July which kinda kept her afloat for awhile until check it out and right through me could come out..but still, bottoms up is the song that stands out the most considering radio plays etc. At the end of 2010 she released moment 4 life which made her fly on her own.
There’s a reason why her label made her feature on treys bottoms up. Building more hype to counterattack the flop that massive attack was. It’s all business! Trey opened for her because his career kinda got stale but it still doesn’t change the fact that she needed him in 2010.

    • Kwinzy March 27, 2017

      This post’s a winner y’all! *fist bump*

  21. LadyEmpress March 26, 2017

Nicki s not playing. She is settling her haters.

However I am a Trey fan to and I feel like Nicki came at him wrong that day when the record dropped. There were so many people to go after but she first went for Trey. Trey was the only person who denied and took up for Nicki. Guicci, Wayne, Drake, Meek and nor Safare stood up. IJS

  22. Caribbean native March 26, 2017

    she right

  23. Qu3Pid March 26, 2017

TREY is arrogant AF! Let’s be honest Bottoms Up was cute but it was over hyped #JMO but to say she wasn’t s*** before you is mind blowing. NICKI definitely had plenty of bangers long before bottoms up. Hell, because of her HYPE in the industry, that’s why TREY reached out to her for a damn feature. Anyway the receipts show that, TREY SONGZ you are not the father lmao becuz before BUTTOMS UP, NICKI had:
    5 Star Chick
    My Chick Bad
    Bed Rock
    Roger That
    Lil Freak
    Shakin’ It 4 Daddy
    Up Out My Face
    Hello, Good Morning
    Your Love …..

  24. Queen Of Billboard (Barb) March 26, 2017

    Lol clock this dl bottom

  25. DanYiel Iman March 26, 2017

Everyone been riding Tricki Garbagh d*** but forgot that Lil’Kim has been Blaque Barbie since Sisqo “How Many Licks!” ?

  26. Kwinzy March 26, 2017

Lol and Nicki can thank Taylor Swift, Britney Spears and Sophia Grace for boosting her career. Lord knows she ain’t s*** without dem white dollaz! #CaucasianBuiltAndCocky ?

    • Meme March 26, 2017

Actually Nicki has a huge urban followering. I actually think her core is more black than Caucasian if you think about it.

      • Kwinzy March 27, 2017

Black folks been over ha since Stupid H**. I know for a fact NY niccas cut off Nicki ever since Young M.A came on the scene cuz she rep us the right way – street rap. The main reason ppl still bump ha is cuz her features on their fave male rappers cuts are inevitable. Nicki never went double platinum on they first solo single independently like M.A. She’s always rode coattails to be relevant. Barbz gotta understand Nicki can’t be every female rapper at once. Pick a side.

  27. PlayWithMe March 26, 2017

Oh My God! Now This Is Getting Irritating. I Dont know About Y’all, But Nicki Has Been Turnin’ Me Off Since No Frauds!

  28. Mark111 March 26, 2017

Until her stans can list hit songs Nicki had before Bottoms Up, other than that one with Wayne and the gang, then it’s true. He said she didn’t have s*** before that song and she really didn’t outside of Bed Rock and that falls under “the joint with Wayne with the crazy wigs” comment he made.

  29. Jasmine March 27, 2017

Nicki and Trey are entitled to their opinions but Nicki should realize that she is giving Trey press by even responding to him. Nicki has more money and fame than Trey so I wish she would have simply shut his criticism down rather than putting out a petty remark. Trey Songz keeps flopping because he is too concerned with press gimmicks to make him popular rather than developing his music hustle to render hit material.

  30. Now at your summer day smile tran March 27, 2017

Yeah she should be thanking him for that

  31. Justafan March 27, 2017

Please. How is Nicki coming for a male artist but not for Remy?! Coward.

  32. Cold March 27, 2017

Bottoms up came out after she had quite a few features after lil freak with usher after hello good morning with diddy after my chick bad with luda
