Rihanna To Be Honoured By Parsons School of Design

Published: Thursday 30th Mar 2017 by David

Rihanna‘s contributions to the creative community haven’t gone unnoticed by the Parsons School of Design.

It’s such a thrill to know that a design school as prestigious as Parsons School of Design would present me with this honor. I consistently find creative and exciting designs coming from Parsons alumni, so I feel a deep connection to the school. But I am especially grateful that Parsons would recognize me for the work I’ve done in regards to philanthropy.

The award is presented to artists who use their art to inspire and empower young women. Fenty will receive it on May 22nd.

Parsons is proud to present Rihanna with this honor, as she has inspired millions through her powerful music and distinct style. She has championed our recent alumni on a number of occasions by wearing their designs. She is also creating important philanthropic programs, which support communities by fostering effective education, health, and emergency response programs around the world through her Clara Lionel Foundation.

Rihanna is actually one of the FEW female artists whose personal, day to day style matches her superstar position. There aren’t too many other female entertainers who look good when they are off stage or not walking a red carpet. Rihanna is edgy, creative, colorful and very fashion forward. Her personal style sets trends and reaches far beyond her mundane contemporaries who rely heavily on “stylists”. CONGRATS RIHANNA! This honor is very well deserved.

She will definitely be a Lengend! She takes her money and makes a difference with it! She deserves soooooo much respect. The things she done for her country, donations made to H** victims, Her foundation, etc are all just amazing!!!

She is a fasionista, but i believe its her “TEAM”. I do not celebrate a LAZY drugged out performer who needs her hair done.

    • Meme March 30, 2017

You do realize that EVERYONE has a team right? So if everyone has a team, why is it that Rihanna continues to prevail in comparison to others in the game? It more than just having a team. At what point to you give the artist credit? As a matter fact these other girls could have the exact same team as Rihanna and they still wouldn’t be able compare. It has nothing to do with the team and everything about the artist.

Congrats! Rihanna is truely a style star, fashion Icon, and these honors from the fashion community are legit! I personally believe Rihanna will focus on fashion full time once her music career takes a back seat. She will be the Black Victoria Beckham.

    • Meme March 30, 2017

She will be the black nobody. She’s is creating her own blueprint for stars after her to follow. No disrespect to Victoria, but what has she done except put on a few cute outfits? This is deeper than just being fashionable.

This generations icon. Get um mama

  6. JoJ March 30, 2017

The fashion world giving my girl some love. I now want her to pay the music world dust. She will have a rewarding career in fashion and will get full recogntion. She has worked herself flat out, 8 albums in a decade, hit after hit, but people still like to discredit her and back pedal her achievements. She has given humanity enough music and can now afford to dump yall ungrateful asses.

Musically/vocally she does absolutely nothing for me or the musical community but she is DEFINITELY one of my favorite fashion girls. Her style is almost ALWAYS on point and I always look to her for some aesthetic SLAYAGE!

    • Rose March 30, 2017

Her music is everything also she has Grammies and broken records her and bob Marley are the most successful artist to come out the islands I give Beyoncé and Rihanna props for being black women who dominate in music stop this hate every generation have their idols not everyone wants to listen to Whitney or Mariah stfu

People stay jealous of Rihanna it sad. And they stay jealous of Nicki but both are winning.

  9. Bianca March 30, 2017

Ppl always talking bout her not having ANY impact but she’s always recognized by the industry. She don’t have to have a full photo shoot before stepping out, she just steps out. She don’t need her album to be hyped up or ppl praising her the music carries itself. Ppl still driving around playing Anti I literally heard a girl today singing kiss it better in her car.
