Ed Sheeran made an impressive chart debut with his latest album ‘÷’ as expected in the U.S., but his record breaking slayage extends to home soil too.
Lifted by ‘Shape Of You,’ the set has become the fastest-selling album in the U.K. by a male artist ever, shifting more than the fastest album of 2016, David Bowie‘s ‘Blackstar.’
The Brit singer’s third studio effort clocks in with a triumphant 672,000 units in its first week. An extension of his dominance can also be seen in the fact that all 16 tracks of his March 3rd release have made it to the top 20.
Becoming the third fastest seller ever, only Adele‘s ‘25‘ (800,000) and Oasis ‘Be Here Now‘ (696,000) raked in higher first week totals in the U.K.
To celebrate his colossal success, the singer headed to the Breakfast Club to enjoy drinks and a lackadaisical conversation with DJ Envy and Charlamagne.

I have only one question: are those numbers for his first week in the UK in real sales and he is truly among the 3 best sellers in that country in the first week, or this is counting streaming and all that pbullshit like in the current American charts? It´s a big difference. It would be either impressive success or just too much hype.
