Tink Reveals She Has Left Epic Records / Explains Album Delay

Published: Thursday 16th Mar 2017 by Sam

Remember Tink?

Back in 2015, the rapper was on the brink of big things.

Presented to the world by Timbaland as his protégé, the Chi-Town native was being tipped as the next female force in Hip-Hop.

Co-signs from her mentor, XXL, and Charlamagne had the industry buzzing; but after a few videos everything went…quiet.

Well, it turns out there was a reason.

In a revealing new interview with VLAD TV, the 21-year-old lifted the lid on the label drama that stifled her launch.

So tumultuous was the back-and-forth that Timbaland packed up shop and took his Mosley Music Group imprint away from Epic Records.

Now signed solely to MMG, Tink opens up about the whole ordeal in the sit-down.

Check it out below…

Wow.

Momentum is difficult to recapture. But hopefully Tink manages to re-ignite hers.

The female rap landscape is still scarily scant and we were loving what we were hearing from her.

First TLC, then Brandy and Monica, after that Ashanti, Ciara, Amerie and Janet.
Keri Hilson, Jennifer Hudson, it’s so hard to shine when King B is around, so many careers killed by the sole existence of Beyonce.
And of course, the ones in life support: Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Alicia Keys, Jlo, Fergie and Gwen, their constant under performance makes the legend of Beyonce biger than ever.

Beyonce hasn’t had a big hit since 2009. And Adele big ass outells her 10 to 1

I like WD4. I wonder if Mosely’s move has anything to do with why Keri hilson hasn’t released an album yet. Last I remember, she was mosely/ zone 4 (Polow) / interscope. Could be a lot of people butting heads.

What the hell is a “Tink” supposed to be? I would have put her on the shelf too if that was how she was planning to represent my company.

Pull through Trinity. One of the few female rappers who can actually sing w/o autotune…

I think LA Reid is there to hold careers hostage so Beyoncé and Rihanna can shine

She’s one of the lyrical rappers that actually has that IT factor. I need for rappers such as her to get her shine. I always digged her records because she puts on substance.
