Beyonce’s ‘Dance For You’ Becomes VEVO Certified With 100 Million Views

Published: Monday 10th Apr 2017 by Sam

Beyonce continues to wrack up the accolades – even for her older work.

2011 brought with it the singer’s 4th opus, the aptly titled ‘4.’ And as with many of Queen Bey’s releases, the album birthed many a video including the scintillating ‘Dance For You.’

Directed by brother-in-law Alan Ferguson, the clip – which is inspired by 1940’s film noir – has reached a major milestone. It has become VEVO Certified.

The high-octane visual, shot while she was pregnant with Blue Ivy, crossed the mark over the weekend and now sits at over 100 million views.

*************

Notable is the fact that the song was never serviced as a single and came at a time when Bey begun doing away with song-focal release strategies and instead pushed visuals to the forefront.

Sure we wished ‘’Dance’ was was showered with the success it deserved (given that it’s a BOP), but feats like this prove that great content will always find a way to win. Congrats!

    Issa BOP! Mad underrated.

    • Meme April 10, 2017

Not really underrated. Just no one checks for her music. If you’ve seen one Beyoncé video you’ve seen them all. Literally

      • Miles April 10, 2017

Definitely a hater….if you aren’t checking for a Beyoncé video then you are just simply a hater because not one of her videos look the same. Every single video is different just like her live performances! Congrats Beyoncé, well deserved for this song & video plus you just gained another hater so you are still winning baby ?

Lmao nobodies checking for Beys music, is that so? Must explain why Lemonslayed is still charting in 67 itunes countries charts. While Rihflop is barely making it in 20 countries LMFAO!!! The albums only charting in the Top 200 on 37 Countries Spotify’s as well! LMFAOOOOO!!! 22+37=59 countries. Why Beyoncé the irrelevant music maker charting in more countries through one outlet??? ????

  3. TAYLOR SWIFTS NUMBER 1 FAN!!! April 10, 2017

Taylor swift is the first and only female with 2 music videos on YouTube with 2 billion views.

  4. Savage_life April 10, 2017

Go bey bey i see you. Now that she’s pregnant and sitting down I’m going to need keri hilson brandy lelly rowland and whoever to release albums now.

  5. Lea April 10, 2017

Meanwhile Rih, Adele, Jlo and Taylor them got vids sittin at 1 billion views. Anyone on here saying Bey or any of her music is underrated is a complete joke. She’s very much overrated and still hasn’t proved in terms of sales, or in this situation, Vevo/Streaming status, thats she’s the queen of anyone outside of the hood and LGBT community. #bye

    • RihYonce April 10, 2017

What? You sound like a hater. First off Beyoncé sits on her videos for a few months before putting them on VEVO. If Bey were to put her videos out the day they are released it would be a different story. Most people already seen the videos from BEYONCÉ & LEMONADE hundreds of times before it was uploaded. Dance For You wasn’t a single so it was a underrated track as well as the album “4”. Beyoncé is a International super star if she wasn’t she wouldn’t be selling out stadium tours & you keep comparing her to these new girls when she’s been in the game for 20 years.

    • Meme April 10, 2017

I’m crying. Not the queen of the hood and LGBT though. I feel the same way though.

  6. Francis April 10, 2017

Love this song and video, a true gem from the underrated 4 Era.

  7. Mariah Carey April 10, 2017

    Timeless album dahhling!

  8. Remey April 10, 2017

Slow new day, huh? No one cares, especially since this era wasn’t commercially strong. Had this been a Rih, Brit, or J.Lo post, the team would’ve destroyed them. “Years later….” so sit down. And this is not coming from a Bey hater. I have mad respect her but please stop.

  9. Meme April 10, 2017

I really would like to see Beyoncé switch it up with her next album. She needs to let go of this extreme s*** look and just focus on her making better music.

    • King B April 10, 2017

@Meme tell your favorite to stop being a p%$nstar

    • RihYonce April 10, 2017

Bey’s music continues to progress and get better with each album. Check the critic scores. Meanwhile Rihanna’s last 4 records sound the same and dated (except ANTI) Bey’s music is fine and considering she’s the only one making a real impact instead making forgettable try hard radio songs her entire career like Rihanna let’s just be real here. I love both but clearly we know who makes better and more timeless music. Rihanna songs are hot for a year and then it’s like “what’s next”

her video numbers are actually pretty low for someone of her caliber….this song was cute tho

    • Miles April 10, 2017

You say her video numbers are low but that’s because Beyoncé doesn’t release everything on YouTube/VEVO until after maybe months or a year the video has already been out. You have to buy her albums or in the case with Lemonade be a member of Tidal to watch her videos mostly so just imagine if she did what a regular star does, release the song then the video right afterwards for sale and views, Beyoncé would kill but Beyoncé isn’t your typical pop star baby okay! You really think that Single Ladies would only be at 550 million views right now ? Really ? Lol

      • RihYonce April 10, 2017

Exactly! These people are so delusional. They want the Queen to be over so bad. She’s not going anywhere.

  11. King B April 10, 2017

It’s hard to believe that this album sold more than Anti, Joanne, Art pop etc. And outstreamed Born This Way, Femme Fatale and had as much stream as TTT, Loud, Una.

  12. LadyEmpress8 April 10, 2017

I see Bey got yall panties in a bunch. Smdh.

  13. Cory April 21, 2017

    Don’t know this song.
