Kelly Rowland Breaks Down Over Mother’s Death During Emotional Interview

Published: Sunday 30th Apr 2017 by Sam

Kelly Rowland has added to her family in recent years after getting married and giving birth to son Titan Jewell.

The singer has also experienced painful loss, specifically the death of her mother Doris just three weeks after welcoming her newborn.

It’s a subject the solo Grammy rarely talks about, however she opened up about it during an interview segment on Australia’s 60 Minutes.

The emotional sit-down saw the 36-year-old detail all that was running through her mind as the ordeal took place and how life has been for her after.

Watch the touching moment below…

That was a hard watch. But we’re sure her story will help others going through similar hardships.

Very good interview with great questions. I’m glad to hear Kelly talk about her mother as she didn’t at the time and it was very perplexing. I haven’t enjoyed much of her latest music but what I’ve always loved about Kelly’s talent is the deeply emotive content of her voice with the clarity and power she possesses. Definitely the best voice in Destiny’s Child although not technically the best singer. I hope she can get back to the greatness she did on Simply Deep, Dance tracks and do some work with Solange too. She’s missing her niche with these generic RnB numbers that leave no mark. Yet 15 years later and “Dilemma” is still the most successful single by any DC member solo or otherwise. So underrated and under-utilised.

      I agree with you

I agree. Kelly has the better voice. Beyonce is the better singer.

But did you claim that Dilemma is bigger than any Beyonce song? Hmmm

That was so beautiful.. She works hard! Also, her publicist is killing it.. Give me a Texas banger for the first single girl.. I loved the way she walk into that restaurant so country.. Lol.. This interview is so long overdue!!!

Favorite kelly song bad habit! Name this album kelandria.. The girls will gag.. This interview makes you understand that the public has had a disconnection with the kelly brand and as she keeps pushing forward she she grows but we arent famaliar with the cause of her growth. She really needs the public to understand her story from destiny child to now because even destinys child, the background story was really beyonce this pagent girl who found friends to sing and dance in her boot camp driven household by her father with the stylish mother who all pulled the strings in order for destiny child (beyonce) to become successful. We dont know kellys underlying story. If the story was drawn out with the roll out of this album right in interview and other promo it really could make the public more familiar with her. Like the long lost cousin that moved away everyone remembers but somehow forgot. A true cinderella story. If she keep the momentum up with more projects i.e. a great movie then maybe the destiny child biopic. she can be a staple in this generations time and further greater opportunities in her long term career. Its like the supremes mary Wilson stills gets her coins today but no one knew her story just diana ross’s. She still young and have so much she can do and say because her resume is fabulous

I’ve always loved Destiny’s Child & each member because the group wouldn’t be a group without each tone to build to what the group has become!! Kelendria Rowland always had a soft touch to me & always felt like the it girl IME…?♥️❤️

Awwww Kelly! This is what I wanted you to do! Show the world who you are outside of Destinys Child! Her next album is going to be flawless she has so much to talk about now

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a respectful interview for a D.C. member that is not Beyoncé. They stayed (for the most part) on subject and didn’t just pummel her with Bey questions. To the host, producers, & anyone else that had something to do with this, GOOD JOB!

As for Kelly, that was an awesome interview! Continue on YOUR PATH to greatness and your Mama is looking after you! ❤️
