Did You Miss It? Jason Derulo & Ty Dolla $ign Shine With ‘Swalla’ On ‘Fallon’

Published: Friday 7th Apr 2017 by Rashad

As their club hit, ‘Swalla,’ continues to satisfy the musical taste buds of music lovers and make its way up the charts on the back of its colorful music video, Jason Derulo and Ty Dolla $ign hit the promo trail in hopes of making the Ricky Reed-produced tune their latest respective top 20 hit.

The island-inspired groove, which also features a verse from Grammy-nominated rapstress Nicki Minaj, got its first live treatment last night courtesy of Derulo and $ign taking to Orlando, Florida’s Universal Music Plaza stage for a special edition of ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.’

Did they do the song justice in Minaj’s absence?  Tuck in below and tell us:

He sounds terrifying. This is a case where the song and the live performance don’t add up. This song was not meant to be performed live. I try REALLY hard to root for him, but he’s always coming up short.

I usually like his singles but hate this one and the fact he lip synced most of it. Watch between 2:28-2:34 he took mic down too soon on “shimmy” ad-lib then forgot other ad lib all together for that fake island winding. And that mic was autotuned af and it was still quite pitchy.

    Ty was good tho.

Hope next single is less contrived. Rooting for u Jason and improvement on ya lipping too if you’re gonna do it’, gotta remember your parts you do it.

Actually purchased the song on iTunes & it’s a great tune, not into this live version but anything without Tricki Garbagh is a blessing!! 🤔
