New Song: Harry Styles – ‘Sign Of The Times’

Published: Friday 7th Apr 2017 by Sam

Harry Styles is the latest One Direction stay to set sail on a solo career.

Fresh from inking a lucrative deal with Columbia Records, the 1D lead launches his chart assault with the anthemic ‘Sign Of The Times.’

Take a listen below…

Clocking in at over 5 minutes, the song certainly takes its time building and could have shaved at least 60 seconds off.

When it does settle into its sonic stride though, it makes for a solid listen. One which successfully fuses Brit-Pop with his powerful vocal.

The final chorus sounds evocative of Prince and ultimately leaves us keen to hear more from Styles.

Styles has vocal talents but nothing that strays too far from the similar sounding height of the Brit pop era and David Bowie. Although a good effort, it would’ve been nice to have heard something that had a surprise element…. this is exactly what i expected from Harry.

Meh. If you like that sort of thing, I guess. The sound is nothing I would buy. It’s a little too “UK.”
