i love MJB and all but why is she doing Theatres?? Why isnt she doing Arenas like she usually does?

    • tptrinity May 15, 2017

She usually does Arena’s when co headlining with another artist like when she toured with Maxwell, D’Angelo or Jay Z. She usually does smaller than arenas when touring alone. Lalah is just an opener. These venues for her make more sense. Not many R&B artists can do arenas when they are headlining unless they have a few other big names on the bill. That’s just the truth.

Her media team has been on point with the photos and videos and her tour production team was at an all time best last year. It looked like some Jay Z type s***. But yes why is she performing at theaters coming off an arena tour? I thought this would be the best time to go on an arena tour with the new album and all.

She’s not big enough to sell out arenas in the US on her own. She would never be able to book an arena because no promoter would risk the revenue loss.

She’s been selling out arena’s for 26 years. This doesn’t make sense when she just came off one last year and has been doing them solo for two decades and just released an album with biggest first week R&B sales in ages, but whatever. I think she can do 5K-8K audience a night.

This is great. Three decades in, she can still do this. Some can’t headline their own and i’m pretty sure every show will sellout. They wanted to be sure in making sure she sold out all over.

I’m sure MJB can sell fill up a few arena’s. But maybe she just wants her shows to be more intimate. Regardless she still collecting checks.
