Surprise! Bryson Tiller Releases New Album A Month Early

Published: Friday 26th May 2017 by Sam

Bryson Tiller sprung a surprise on fans moments ago. That surprise being the release of his sophomore album ‘True To Self.’

The hotly anticipated set, which arrives via RCA, was confirmed for a June 23rd arrival.

However, following the tracklist unveiling hours ago, he took to social media with the following announcement:

i know we said June 23rd… but i say we Set it Off Tonight!! ALBUM OUT NOW

No word on what the motivations were for the early debut, but it’s smart in any case as it’s a relatively quiet week on the release front. One does have to wonder though whether he has enough clout to make the “surprise drop” work for him.

In any case, the reveal came in tandem with the premiere of the video for ‘Somethin’ Tells Me’:

I don’t think Trapsoul was popular enough for him to be dropping “surprise” releases. He had a few MEGA-popular singles and those streams pushed the album to platinum status.

There’s this little thing called having self esteem. maybe he’s not worried about sales and just wanted to drop the album. Only pathetic, failed musicians care about sales. Let this man live. It sounds good so far.
