Iggy Azalea Says ‘Switch’ Video WON’T Be Released / Unsure When Album Will Drop

Published: Thursday 29th Jun 2017 by Rashad

First thing’s first; Iggy Azalea has proven time after time that she’s the realest (often to her detriment).  Never really one to mince words, the ‘Team’ rapstress to Twitter to console concerned fans who expected her long-awaited sophomore album, ‘Digital Distortion,’ to drop tomorrow (June 30).

As we reported here, Azalea prematurely announced the set’s official release date in late May before retracting the statement a week later. Now, just one day before its previously announced premiere, the ‘Bounce’ beauty dealt fans a crushing blow by not only informing them she’s unsure when (or if) the album will drop, but also revealed its third single – ‘Switch’ (featuring Anitta) – will not receive official video treatment.

This, after the song has been promoted on a number of television and radio outlets as well as its accompanying visual teased on social media.

    Awww….
I’ve never been a fan but I totally remember when she had a huge buzz on the net before “Fancy” and people loved her but when “Fancy” happened it was oh this girl is appropriating black culture and it doesn’t know the history of Hip Hop music. She literally became the poster child of “Black Appropriation”.

Imo I know the whole “S**** Master” lyric happened but she did apologize for it when the backlash began. I’ve actually seen her talk about black hip hop artists that inspired her and that she would love to work with but still “she is appropriating black culture”…… is this the first white artist we’ve seen do this? Give me a break.
And you’re not appropriating if you have acknowledged the history and literally have a big cosign by a well respect black rapper who has now ditched her.
    Sad ting ;(

So if someone calls me a fat black ugly nasty c***, and then apologizes, does that make the insult any less insulting? And like u said, she apologized AFTER THE BACKLASH meaning had there been no backlash she wouldn’t have apologized. And as for the “co-sign” by black artists…white women co-signed for Trump during election period but that doesn’t change the fact that he thinks he can grab them by the crotch! Lol

Nah, she really did appropriate and take on a persona and accent in her music that was very inauthentic. No she’s not the only one but there’s no need to downplay this.

A mess. I feel labels should stop delaying albums in search of hits. Especially when it comes to artist like Iggy who has reached their peek. She will never have another Fancy. Just release the music and move on. Weather that means dropping her afterwards. Holding back the music and video in this case only frustrate the 20 fans she has left who is eagerly waiting for new music. Me being one of the 20

Man I love iggy really wanted people to see what she has to offer this time around and the label is killing me like dang she ain’t gonna have a top 100 hit so chill let her live

  7. DanYiel Iman June 29, 2017

That’s sad because her music is much better then Tricki Garbagh yet her wack music keeps getting played & she SUCKS!!

And there goes the double standard and The white privilege aspect of it. This white girl does nothing but immiate black culture yet The black woman gets insulted for behaving in that way. They both have sexually suggestive lyrics. They both always showing off their ass. They are both “rappers” yet somehow Iggy is somehow deemed better simply and only because she’s white!!! Again, white privilege aka white supremacy = racist/racism.

It def jam label in general

  9. gio88 June 30, 2017

she doesn’t derserve that , whay chris brown is allowed to have a career and she can’t?! because she is white or a female rapper?1 double standards

    • S. J. R June 30, 2017

Chris brown= asshole, woman beater, addict, talented singer dancer writer.
Iggy= how can I appropriate black culture today.
Btw…if you are a person of color and you feel like that, you might want to start doing some soul searching. If you’re white…you’re pretty much racist. Lmmfao

The video of Switch leaked a long time ago, how come so many people didn’t see it yet? Anyway, i’m wishing her the best with her new album

  11. S. J. R June 30, 2017

Smh….so they’re still trying to make fetch happen huh?!?! Lmmfao I swear I don’t even understand why they are still putting so much money into her. And now given the current state of her career(alum delays, multiple flop singles even with promo etc), I’m sure that budget is soon to drop. Hell, she might get dropped! At some point they have to realize that she’s damaged goods. Then she talking that **I just wanna put the Album out and be done with it**so she can quickly put together another (flop)album. If that’s her work ethic there’s no wonder she can’t get it together. Smh

Sometimes I wonder if certain artists have too much autonomy. Can you imagine Berry Gordy letting Diana fail? Can you imagine Clive letting Whitney fail? Neither woman had much power to choose the songs they sang, but the labels behind them weren’t about to lose a top-selling artist to poor song choices. IA’s A&R person needs to listen to the d*mn demos submitted to the label and see if anything pops. They shouldn’t be putting out buzz and test singles. They need to go for the hit every time.

Having said all of that, I like this girl’s candor. At least she keeps it real. Much respect.

  13. SMH June 30, 2017

Lmao. and everyone kept saying she ended Nicki. Lmfao.
