a very very weak year for music videos. the weeknd-reminder for video of the year? what a joke. same thing goes for dj khaled’ wild thoughts another weak video nominated for video of the year. mtv are u guys joking.

best choreography, fifth harmony-down.HAHAHAHAHA. pls show me the choreography in that video.

2017 is a bad bad year for music and music videos.

    • Whoops July 25, 2017

Eh. Doesn’t matter. It’s going to Kendrick.

    • AmbeRussell July 25, 2017

Wild thoughts is nominated for the song i feel more so than the video itself. They forget, they are nominating VIDEOS not the song.

      • Whoops July 25, 2017

That’s true. There’s absolutely nothing special about the Wild Thoughts Video that deserves that nomination. You’re right. This isn’t the billboard awards. It’s the Video Music Awards. The only video there that deserves Video of the year is HUMBLE.

  3. Molly Percocet ? July 25, 2017

Selena was snubbed. Vmas can never seem too get it right. Congrats too Selena, Sza, Rihanna, and Kendrick they deserve their noms and more.

  4. pat July 25, 2017

boring year for music……crossing my fingers for a janet come back performance to kick off the tour

  5. Hmmm…. July 25, 2017

Very boring. It’ll be Kendrick’s night. And Closer is still getting nominated for stuff? Seems like that stupid song has been around forever.

  6. iSpeakTruthNoFallacy July 25, 2017

Where’s Bad & Boujee? Where’s Solange? Y’all got Ariana Grande for best choreo when all she did was ride a damn bike? What a damn shame! Y’all can’t save pop music; it’s done

  7. Jamon July 25, 2017

How is “Closer” and “24K Magic” still getting nominations???

    • AmbeRussell July 25, 2017

Hu 24k didn’t come out until october, so it was after all cut off deadlines bes for 2016 music awards. And closet came out late summer. Chain smokers had don’t let me down out first and that was winning and getting nominated

  8. Datredd23 July 25, 2017

Congrats queen Rih Wild Thoughts saved summer 2017!!

  9. Cough Cough July 25, 2017

MTV awards hasn’t been a great event in eons. This literally used to be the spectacle of the year and now it’s just, boring.

  10. THE REAL July 25, 2017

Just terribly lackluster. This show hasn’t been the same since Bey’s iconic baby bump reveal from 2011. The only other highlights in recent ywara also came from Bey in 2014 during her Vnaguard performance and the Lemonade performance last year. I can’t seem to recall any other notable event aside from Nicki asking Miley Cyrya ‘What’s good?’ Did they even acknowledge Prince passed away last year? The only reason the VMAS still exist is to help MTV sell ads and pay the bills.

  11. SMH July 25, 2017

The MTV Awards hasn’t been exciting (or relevant) since the early 2000s. MJ was still alive the last time they had an exciting show. And the 2010s is their worst and most lackluster decade ever. Not one single exciting or memorable moment in the last 7 years. Not surprised at this snoozefest.

  12. gina July 25, 2017

the roach queen must have been too busy to write some checks this year lmao.

  13. ??? July 25, 2017

no beyonce??? Good. Now I have a reason to watch this year.

  14. mr.m July 25, 2017

    wow
this could be the worst vma’s ever !!! SO BORING !!
hopefully the performances save the night
I heard Xtina is coming … if so … i might be watching
    bye

  15. Citi July 25, 2017

Even tho it wasn’t a hit, Slumber Party deserved a few nods. It’s Brit best video in over a decade and one of the best this year.

  16. Brent Christpher July 25, 2017

The nominations are all pedestrian & bland. So many great videos & artists have been left out. This is going to be yet another trash awards show for MTV.

  17. DanYiel Iman July 25, 2017

Beyoncé always served up great videos especially for African American artist, I’m not sure who besides the weekend & Kendrick can save the show…

  18. Meme July 25, 2017

    It’s king K season

  19. Janet July 26, 2017

All I am seeing is a bunch of artists who pay big to have their s*** played to exhaustion on local radio. Nothing new here, and def not the best music that has come out this year ( as usual). I am so , SO bored with the crap that is played nowadays.

  20. Mariah Carey July 27, 2017

Where’s “I Don’t” for Video of the Year? Bleak dahhling!

  21. TD August 11, 2017

Kendrick had the best video, so he should get Best Video, Editing, Direction, Cinematography and Effects…

  22. Sal F August 24, 2017

No Nom’s for Lana Del Rey. Love and lust for life both good songs and great video’s. Its a great album and should be recognized for it.
