There’s no way of getting around it…sales of Remy Ma‘s solo material are putrid.
Fortunately, the same can’t be said for her public image, elevated and revered by those who see her as the antithesis of her more commercially viable rival Nicki Minaj.
How Ma hopes to remedy this?
By baring her soul on her new album ‘ ‘7 Winters & 6 Summers’.
Speaking to press at the Essence Festival she shared:
When I was incarcerated, I could not fathom counting the time and the years that they had given me. I was given 8 years with 5 years post-supervision, which was technically 13 years and I just couldn’t find myself counting like that.
When I left, my son was 7 years old, so to count to 8 or 13 was just like crazy to me. So I would count based on what I saw outside my window.
Out of my little window, I would see green, which would mean it was Summer… or bare trees, which meant it was Winter.
So if it was green outside and it was like 2010, I was like… ‘just 4 more Summers to go’…
Ultimately by the time I was released, I had did 7 Winters and 6 Summers.
A release date for the album is yet to be locked in.

Yes, Remy has my support but I need her to hurry up and finish this album and get a good team in place. She should’ve had something lined up right after she won her BET Awards. It kinda irks me when I feel like people drop the ball. She has the talent!

Now I know why she asks are you dumb. Because she hype she can actually count how long she been locked up.
Even if the album is good the sales will be poor because Remy’s fan base isn’t as loyal or large as she may think it is. Just a lot of Nicki haters showing fake love. I genuinely don’t think Remy cares about the numbers so hopefully she can just create a good body of work.
She’s been out 3 years now. Kinda over it now. She hasn’t even given us a solo EP or Single. Flow is tired too.
Remy Ma needs a fresh look. She be good but at the same time she gives off a rough around the edge look…. I think she should lose a some weight too.
