SZA’s ‘Love Galore’ Earns $39,000…This Week

SZA‘s reign as Contemporary R&B’s new Queen continues this year with the success of her single ‘Love Galore.’

Sales of her debut set ‘CTRL’ have been extremely modest but this stands as a far cry from its single ‘Galore’ which is making monumental moves for the entertainer on a financial front.

How so?

‘Galore’ earned a handsome $39,334 in the last week thanks to $34,476 generated from streams and $4,858 picked up from pure sales in the United States alone.

An impeccable feat, the cut’s digital run will spell good news for her label Top Dawg Entertainment who saw its parent album impact the Billboard 200 with sales of 25,000 units and undoubtedly have their sights set on its follow-up.

    • ??? July 28, 2017

Please, this girl’s sales are just as pathetic as theirs.

Don’t know what happened to Sevyn..someones doing her dirty only selling 4k no streaming..SZA is everything I just hate that they put her in Contemporary RnB genre when white singers like halsey who appropriate slow RnB songs are popRnb status..contemporary RnB is a joke BB doesn’t even care about those artists and neither does Urban and hip HOP radio.! How do they expect pple to catch on and help artist build a fan base without radio? So here as usual white artists majority streams views radio spins and fanbases always win. No wonder rappers and blk producers are clinging to them to sell records! SZA &. JUSTINE SKYE I hope make it to mainstream!

First of all, Halsey is biracial so she’s entitled to sing R&B just as much as how Tinashe who’s biracial is allowed to do R&B, or Drake who’s biracial is allowed to do urban music or rap. Halsey is popRnB and SZA is contemporary, deal with it. It is what it is. Stop disrespecting someone’s genetic makeup just because her Melanin isn’t popping like SZA’s or Alecia keys. You’re what’s wrong with America. Mariah being white passing but biracial can do R&B and get a pass, so why can’t Halsey who’s also white passing? Sit down. Stop blaming someone’s misfortune on someone else’s gain.

To DissGurl Yeah go figure that’s the thing to trick the blk community into thinking a white artist is Biracial for street credit pass! lol Halsey isn’t freaking bi racial believe what u want. Labels are just out to make money at any expense catching onto the latest fad then run with it. Next thing you know all or the majority of RnB will look white ish w rap features and that’s not cool. They all work with the same producers therfor all should be in the Rnb cat including Sza!

        Tell her parents that. Bye.

The song played on hbo’s ‘insecure’ season premiere.

Streaming revenue seems decent overall. The songs on the chart above are averaging slightly more than 1/2 penny per stream.

  11. ThatGrapeJuice Fan July 28, 2017

It’s a good song so it’s well deserved

If you are good, people will find you eventually, I found SZA by accident just scrolling through Napster, and BAM , I’m hooked streamed the weekend about 50 times. She is a musical genius , her tone, phrasing, timing, lyrical content, are all original and this album will be one to remember for this generation. Tinashe and Seven aren’t bad , they are just generic sounding. They are like elevator R&B, typical fare. Other words , boring, unoriginal. SZA is truly a unique one of a kind “artist”.

What the hell is so great about a tydollar sign or djkahlid Rnb or Rnb/hiphop record? They’ve given Halsey Demi Katy 5H they use white privilege to sell records and are heard in massive numbers making a lack of mainstream views streams impossible for a Sevyn Or Tinashe to catch up and be heard but mainly because of male dominated hip HOP promo. SZA, H.ER, Solange, their sound is still, no uptempos, dance, etc same calm emotional thought provoking sound. Sevyn& Tinashe are def in the same genre they try to take blk appropriation.
