Cardi B‘s rise to superstardom has seen her venture into Wendy Williams’ neck of the woods today with hopes doing so will support her new number ‘Bodak Yellow.’

Now far removed from her time on ‘Love & Hip Hop‘, the multi-hyphenate starlet hit the show for an interview which saw her spill details on her love life, career plans and her feelings towards her supposed enemy Karrueche Tran.

That isn’t all.

For, she also performed the aforementioned ‘Bodak’ live!

No bars. Straight chorus. Where Nicki and Remy when you need them.

“Is Cardi B the next Nicki Minaj?” Quote by Wendy Williams.
Nicki Minaj will always be Nicki. I see Cardi B following Nicki’s foot steps. Earlier on in Nicki’s career she appeared on Wendy Williams show, and promoted her single. Cardi is doing the same. However, let’s see if she ever reaches Nicki Minaj’s status. Realistically, it’s a very hard task to feat, but anything is possible. I will say, Wendy Williams has been mad ever since Nicki stopped appearing on her show, and has been biased toward Nicki ever since. I love the Wendy show because she holds her own. I like Cardi’s new song, it is very reminiscent of when Iggy A started out with work–cute. I love Nicki because she encourages females to achieve what they want to. Overall, achieving what Nicki Minaj has done in the past years and still is doing will be a difficult shoes to fit.

I don’t think Cardi should even try to fill Nicki’s shoes tbh the trap sound is something she really could dominate and make a lane for herself in because she’s really good at it and it fits her/her personality. The commercial side of the industry that Nicki has been successful in I just don’t think Cardi is built for and I don’t mean that in a shady way.

I agree with you. She could make the trap sound work for her. She could be the Trap Queen. Nicki Minaj obviously has a formula, and it’s commercialized rap which I personally do not have a problem with. Cardi B could make cute trap music with focus and keeping her head straight. Will she out commercialize and outsell Nicki Minaj? Only time will tell. In my opinion it’s a no, but we’ll see. Nicki Minak does have her messy moments, but the girl did for commercial rap what a lot of female tried to do and failed at doing. Everybody wants her on their songs. She helps sell music, there’s no denying that. Is she the Queen of Rap? Maybe–if sales, features and certifications count. I think she might have the crown. She is flexible and knew what she wanted to achieve. She played the game and now she can call the shots. Maybe a lot of the bitter female rappers need to take notes.

I m gonna need for Cardi B to actually rap. Barz(lol). The song is cute but nothing else.

Yes, it’s cute and that’s all. The witty clever ways of Nicki Minaj that we’ve all witnessed from day one until this present day is untouched. The ability to rap with the flow and beat like Nicki Minaj on any type of music is untouched. I’m just saying, Nicki been done her thang. I ain’t even a stand, but praises are die to the gal.

Cardi could very well branch into pop. She already sings better than Onika try hard vocals. Plus she speak Spanish and the top song in the country right now is Latin. Fortunately Bronx is hot right now with Remy back in the game. Never before has female rap been a hot topic in bx or Remy and Cardi gotta come correct. History in the making.??

    Bodak yellow isn’t trap tho
    Cardi doesn’t have any training
Nicki was really articulate and can turn personas on and off because she went to laguardia for acting

Cardis more all around hood which makes her interviews uncomfortable because she doesn’t have a witty response she just stutters

I think her talent is that she writes and has a voice for Dominicans and the uptown Manhattan/bx demographic like a female a boogie

No one cares about the Nicki comparisons. Cardi is doing her thing & so is Nicki. Everytime a female rapper gets shine everyone becomes jealous.
