Behind the Scenes: Yo Gotti & Nicki Minaj’s ‘Rake It Up’ Video

Published: Wednesday 16th Aug 2017 by Rashad

As reported here, Nicki Minaj is zooming to her next top 20 hit thanks to the Yo Gotti bop, ‘Rake It Up.’

Already hopping to #22 in just 6 weeks, the song’s promising ascent to the Hot 100’s upper fifth is all the more impressive given the absence of its official music video.  At the beginning of the month, the Harajuku Barbie assured her (growingly) impatient supporters the clip was “less than a week away.”  Fast forward two weeks later, no video.

To tide fans over, Minaj took to Twitter recently to unveil a behind the scenes look at the highly anticipated video.  There, viewers can catch a glimpse of what to expect from the visual in addition to its touted guest appearance by Blac Chyna.

Side to Side just went 3x Platinum in the U.S. and Swalla just went 5x. Congratulations Nicki, can’t wait for NM4.

Who cares?? Nicki has no staying power anymore when she oversaturates the market with mad features. You Da Baddest came in at #38 and bounce all the way down to #87 in one week. Issa hit…and RUN. That’s what happens to cash cow industry puppets like Nicki. Bodak will go #1 and Nicki gon seeth tryna find reasons as to why having the most hit…and runs on Billboard is MEANINGLESS without not even once topping the Hot100.

If Nicki were to top the chart y’all would still find a way to discredit her anyway so why does it matter to you since you clearly aren’t a fan? Fancy went number 1 and where is Iggy right now? Still struggling to put out her sophomore album. Cardi is just starting and you idiots keep putting her against Nicki knowing dang well the general public is not going to support Cardi in the long run. I hope the two continue to embrace each other and not listen to you guys trying to start issues.

Cardi will not be a one hit wonder because she knows how to make good music. Forever and Lick were solid songs. Cardi doesn’t need another Bodak Yellow in order to sustain. Queen Latifah has many good songs. Latifah did not have to match UNITY to be considered a legend. Pink Friday had a lot of hits and misses and people still only consider Nicki’s FEATURE on MONSTER to be a good song even though Super Bass was her breakout song that took the industry (white people) by storm. Cardi is going to do well. Cardi is in the right era of social media. She already has the people fixated and they can’t stop watching. Remember, this is mixtape Cardi, not album Cardi.

I cannot WAIT for Cardi to go number ONE on the HOT 100 & make a pure example of quality content vs. hit & miss features fludding the airwaves.

Everything y’all saying about Cardi y’all said about Iggy when she first came up… where is Iggy now? Struggling to put out her second album. Bodak Yellow is a bop but let’s see where she is in 8yrs. Nicki stay winning and you haters stay pressed.

Iggy’s problem wasn’t her music. It was Nicki going behind the scene to stop her. When that didn’t work, Nicki put the streets on Iggy (Snoop Dogg) and Iggy did not have the juice to handle black folks. Finally, Nicki lied on stage saying, “when she spits it she wrote it,” and that took away Iggy’s credibility along with bringing up old tweets of Iggy saying negative things about black people. Iggy’s downfall was not her music. BUT Cardi is no Iggy. She can handle anything Nicki brings. Cardi already got Nicki out here acting like she’s the desperate rookie. Nicki is quick to post anything about Cardi for attention. The DJ played Gotti’s song in the club and Nicki tweeted that shyt like Cardi jumped on stage and spat her verse. (hehehehehe) Then, Nicki was quick to post that Cardi tweeted her lyrics but Cardi didn’t even hashtag the name of the song. (hehehehehehe) Cardi is playing chess.
