Chart Check [Hot 100]: Nicki Minaj Nabs History Making 14th Top 10 Single With ‘Rake It Up’

Published: Wednesday 30th Aug 2017 by Rashad

Nicki Minaj has raked yet another top 10 entry into her pile of hits.

The rapstress, who was already penciled in history books for having more Hot 100 entries than any other female act (of any genre), also holds the record for most top 10 hits among female rappers on the same list.  This week brought with it news the latter achievement was extended as her hit with rapper Yo Gotti, the bop ‘Rake It Up,’ soared into the top 10, giving Minaj her 14th mention in the chart’s topmost dectet.

With heightened visibility thanks to its recently unveiled music video, ‘Rake’ rose in digital sales, streaming, and radio airplay – a combo that helped place it at #10 on this week’s refreshed tally.

Curious to see who joins the duo in the top 25?  Tuck in below to find out:

    Interesting

    • Caleb August 31, 2017

We’ll Bang-bang is led by all 3 artists so maybe 3.5 lol

  2. Ajm265 August 30, 2017

But let’s be honest if her verse wasn’t on some of those songs they would not be hot.

    • Abel Minaj August 30, 2017

whether they want to accept it or not, Nicki is the main reason most of these were hits.

      • king z August 30, 2017

abel i agree with you here. i hate when people make it seem like just because the majority of her hits were features that it meant those songs would have been just as successful if she were absent

many if not most of those songs were hits because of her!

BTW, it’s 15. where Dem girls at is missing from the list

    • king z August 30, 2017

  4. Fancy BISH August 30, 2017

    Slay a bit, Onika!

  5. ummmm August 30, 2017

Where’s the hip hop records at on that list though? I’m sorry how did it jump from #24 to #10 in one week again? It’s not even on the top 20 iTunes chart, I get it the video premiered on Tidal but it doesn’t have crazy views. Very fishy.

Wow what a sh*tty discography I honestly had to Youtube most of those tracks listed. Just forgettable.

  7. Davii August 30, 2017

    Oinka Pedophilaj is trash

    • DanYiel Iman August 30, 2017

      Oops ? my thoughts EXACTLY!!

  8. Jeans August 30, 2017

    ONLY 3 solo. Smh

  9. Achooo! August 30, 2017

As a featured artist she could not make this history being solo. Her days are numbered and the light getting dimmed. She is a stiff terrible performer who cannot rap live nor have dance rhythm. It’s only a matter of time…

  10. Janriah Houston-Blige August 30, 2017

Nicki is the Queen of Features, not the Queen of Rap.

  11. LIL’ KIM BIRTHED YO FAVES August 30, 2017

14 top ten songs and 80 Billboard Hot 100 entries without a #1 song. That is tragic. Just look at that list. Not a single classic song in sight. Just “hot right now” trash. Quantity over quality works as a short-term strategy, but it does not work as a long-term strategy. You don’t build a serious legacy with trash.

Poor Oinknika. She is at the stage of her career where just charting doesn’t cut it. She has been exposed as an empty suit. She’s been the leading “hip hop” lady for seven years and she has no classic hip hop album OR song. All she has is a one decent but overhyped feature (Monster) and a bunch of dud collaborations. She will be remembered as the chick who jumped on everyone’s songs from 2010-2017, but she will not be remembered as an iconic hip hop queen like Lil’ Kim and Missy Elliott.

Lil’ Kim has five top tens:
    1) The Grammy nominated “Not Tonight” (feat. Da Brat, Left Eye, Missy Elliott, and Angie Martinez)
    2) The legendary “It’s All About the Benjamins” (Remix)
    3) The Grammy Award-winning NUMBER ONE HIT “Lady Marmalade (with Christina Aguilera, Pink, and Mya)
    4) The iconic “Magic Stick” (feat. 50 Cent) (went to #2 without a p0rno video like Anaconda)
    5) The modern R&B classic “Let It Go” (with Keyshia Cole and Missy Elliott)

    Quality over quantity.

    • Caleb August 31, 2017

      “Magic Stick” is not “iconic.”

props to Nicki but I’m really rooting for Cardi B to actually top the Hot 100 after Taylor Swift’s hype dies down.

    come thru Demi!!!

“Curious to see who joins the duo in the top 25?”

No, but I am curious to know who the runners-up are when it comes to female rappers with the most top 10 hits. It seems like it would be relevant to this post.

  14. Caleb August 31, 2017

So I went and did my research and these are the runners-up after Nicki for being the female rappers with the most top 10s on the Billboard hot 100:

Missy Elliot – 12 (notably she is the lead artist on 6, precisely half, of these entries.)
    Lil’ Kim – 5
    Eve – 4
    Da Brat – 3
    Iggy Azalea – 3
    MC Lyte – 3

    • Caleb August 31, 2017

If you were to include the TLC songs that include Left Eye rapping on them plus the two top tens she was featured on – “Not Tonight (Ladies’ Night Remix)” and “U Know What’s Up” – she’d come in third with 6.
