Stellar! Pink Soars With Stunning Cover Of Sam Smith’s ‘Stay With Me’ On BBC Live Lounge

Published: Friday 8th Sep 2017 by Sam

Pink is renown for taking flight across arena ceilings, but today it was her vocals that did the astounding acrobatics.

The Pop superstar is currently in London promoting new single ‘What About Us’ and its housing album ‘Beautiful Trauma’ (due October 27th).

Said promo trail brought her to the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge.

As is customary on the Clara Amfo hosted show, acts perform their own songs along with a cover.

Pink’s pick was Sam Smith‘s smash ‘Stay With Me.’

That last chorus, though! Spirit -filled!

See, while all of us Urban leaning folk will love and remember Pink for the R&B she debuted with, she has a soulfulness that is embedded in her voice that is ever present. Whatever she’s singing. Case in point the gorgeous performance above.

Peep her other showing below…

I wouldn´t say this was stellar by ANY MEANS. Standards are so low that now we think people like Pink are stellar vocally. They are not. They are good. Nothing too special.
Looks like for the first time in many years shes not going to do as good commercially this era. It was about time somehow cause her music is generic and generic and generic for too many times now.
Still, very talented, and a great performer.

The Truth About Love is better than Artpop and Joanne combined. Pink is not the greatest vocalist but she’s one of the best because she sells pain. Pain can never be generic

GIRL AKA JOHN YOU ARE DEAD WRONG. PINK is very underrated vocally i.e….SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW… look lesbo….Mariah I see not the only great vocalist

Like I said, she is good, she did good with Over the Rainbow. Not stellar. And for the one that mentioned Lady Gaga: she is on the same group as pink vocally, good or very good, but not stellar. However, Gaga serves new stuff each go around. Pink doesn´t. That album one of you mentioned is one more generic album by Pink. She wishes she could be as versatile and eventful as Lady Gaga. I could mention 2 or 3 songs on Joanne that are better than entire albums by Pink. She´s cool. It stops there.
