Tamar Braxton Announces New Album ‘Blue Bird Of Happiness’

Published: Tuesday 5th Sep 2017 by Sam

R&B star Tamar Braxton will be aiming to shine brighter than ever with her fifth studio album.

In the works for over a year, the set follows 2015’s ‘Calling All Lovers’ – a project and campaign that were cut short after the singer was hospitalised.

Having given the masses a taste of what to expect earlier this summer with emotional ballad ‘My Man,’ Ms. She, Me, Her has revealed the title of her LP and its cover.

The set is officially christened ‘Blue Bird Of Happiness’ and its cover awaits below…

Via Instagram:

Interesting title and artwork.

Illness aside, we weren’t the most enamoured by her last album.

A little more of the magic that made ‘Love & War’ such a strong body of work will be much appreciated this go round.

Stay tuned for more details, such as producers and a release date. In the meanwhile, let us know…

    Love it ? ❤️❤️

    Uninterested. Hopefully, B7 will drop on the same day as Bluebird for Instant Floppage.

      You know there’s a reason why you’re the commenter and not either artist you’re talking about. Before you comment negatively on some one who is living their dreams, think about how pathetic your little piece of s*** life and try to spread positivity.

      • 4everBrandy_Ci September 5, 2017

        @Tori

        These trolls go on here to spew their negativity on artists but I have to agree with you that people just have nothing else to do.

      • The Wig Snatcher September 5, 2017

        Says the Stan of TWO serials floppers who Beyoncé and Rihanna surpassed.

      • Jasmine September 5, 2017

        @tori there is no reason for you to be on here cyber bullying people. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion b i t c h. Are you that insecure that you have to spew hate on people that dislike your favs? Get a backbone b i t c h and stop being so nasty and insecure.

      • 4everBrandy_Ci September 5, 2017

        @The Wig Snatcher @Jasmine

        It’s pathetic how people such as yourselves pit black artist and tear them down. So stanning for two black artist will help the genres of r&b and hip-hop thrive. Y’all are so brainwashed and it’s not surprising you mention those two artist by the way have are doing their stuff. But tearing down the rest of black artist to make them superior is wack. Supporting more than one black artist is important to the culture. You want to pick on the great other talented black artist that don’t get enough support. Both of y’all clowns stay delusional.

      • Jasmine September 5, 2017

        4everBrandy_Ci Girl do not call me names (“clown”, “brainwashed”, etc). Gown the F up. I am entitled to my opinion B I T C H! I like numerous “black artists” like Jazmine Sullivan, Beyonce, Toni Braxton, Avant, Musiq Soulchild, Kem, Monica, Usher, Chris Brown, etc but I do not like that b i t c h Tamar. Are you a weak b i t c h like tori that feels a need to cyber bully people for not liking your favs or are you an independent / mature person that could care less who likes your fav? The choice is yours dear and I hope you choose to be an independent / mature person instead continue to carry on the way you are doing simply over someone not liking one of your favs. It is not that big a deal. I like Toni, Tamar’s sister, but you could not pay me to hear that muppet Tamar’s music. Tamar’s personality is disgusting, horrible, ghetto, and fake and that is the reason I will never support that b i t c h. The artists I choose to support financially is MY prerogative and MY right and no one can name-call me or come for me about my choice unless they want to get clowned on.

      • 4everBrandy_Ci September 5, 2017

        @Jasmine

        You proved MY point. You have the audacity to tell me who I support within my username “flops”. How very hypocritical of you? You can sit down somewhere because your lack of comprehension of what I posted is evident. I didn’t say you had to support Tamar. Just as you stated I don’t have a right to call you a “clown” but you called Tamar a “flop”. And you went after my username. You can have the ENTIRE row of seats.

      • Jasmine September 5, 2017

        Unlike you, my comments are based on facts and actual observations. You assumed to know the reason I dislike Tamar and you assumed that means I automatically only like Bey and Ri: “Supporting more than one black artist is important to the culture.” I simply corrected you b i t c h so stop with your idiotic assumptions and name-calling people who do not support your favs (no one has an obligation to support or like your favs). Deal with it.

  3. Brent Christpher September 5, 2017

    Didn’t K Michelle release a very similar cover recently?

  4. Credits September 5, 2017

    She looks like One of the X-men. SHOUld have just called it ‘blue bird.’ Less is more. ANd calling all lovers was seriously underrated.

    • Drinkmybussyjuice September 5, 2017

      Calling all lovers is one of my favorite albums off all time. Its def a go too

  5. Gee September 5, 2017

    Her last album was solid it was a mature album than that of Love & War. This new album boosts an interesting title hopefully this new album will showcase Tamar Braxton the artist with a body of work that allows her to shine.

  6. Jeans September 5, 2017

    Interesting title. I actually like the cover.

    • Jeans September 5, 2017

      Yeh, maybe it should just have been “blue bird”

  7. BIGGESTAALIYAHFAN September 5, 2017

    DOPE cover! I Thought this was her 4th album not 5th

    • TamartianFever September 6, 2017

      They are counting her Christmas album as well

  8. Keith September 5, 2017

    Agree with those who say the title should’ve been shortened. More interested in the content than the cover. Looking forward to some new Braxton music this fall…

  9. Black power September 5, 2017

    Y’all are drunk on this site!! Calling all lovers was IT!!!!! She does do the most, most of the time BUTTT she never dissapoints with the music!!! Can’t wait

  10. Anthony September 5, 2017

    Calling All Lovers was slepT on heavily. I’m not sure what yall were listening too. But the album is still in rotation over here.

  11. Jasmine September 5, 2017

    I’ll pass. Toni is releasing an album so I guess she decided to hurry her muppet @zz in the studio and release her album to compete with her sister. Tamar is simply unlikeable. I agree with Babyface’s and LA Reid’s decision in picking Toni out of the group to be the solo star. Tamar is just a try-hard missing the IT factor and Tamar will never get a grammy. The only thing real in that album cover photo is the hair hat from the Chinese women’s head she is wearing. Period. Dot Com. WillNeverBuyAMuppetRecord.org.

    • Achooo! September 5, 2017

      Lol

  12. SMH September 5, 2017

    Hate the title, like the cover.

  13. 4everBrandy_Ci September 5, 2017

    This is interesting for Tamar to still be relevant in today’s market of r&b in general. I have her albums and I must say she honestly has her own lane. Yes Toni has gained success and I support Tamar as well. Some people do the usual trolling on Tamar but regardless she has a solid fanbase. I’m here for black artist getting innovative and I really want Tamar to sustain herself and just put into her artistry. “Calling All Lovers” was a really great effort. Although she had issues with her health I’m glad she pushed through and still wants to put out records. She does have substance and I really think this album will be innovative since of course “Calling All Lovers” didn’t get the proper treatment it should’ve gotten. Some people complain about the lack of r&b records not getting enough support. All the irrelevant b.s. can go out the window and just support our black artists. There are a variety of innovative black artist that don’t get a lot of support and get overlooked due to the oversaturation of garbage. I look forward to Tamar’s new album!

    • Jasmine September 5, 2017

      How did Calling All Lovers not “get the proper treatment is should’ve gotten”? With 4 music videos and 5 officially released singles that is probably the hugest budget a label spent to promote an R&B record that year. The problem with that album was no hit songs. How many music videos and singles did you expect to get released from that album? Tamar’s health excuse did not occur until months after the album and it’s singles had been released and already flopped.

      • Tori September 5, 2017

        Tamar album wasn’t promoted properly, AT ALL. Especially with the label being damn near family. The only video Epic only paid for “If I Don’t Have You”, “Let Me Know”, “Angels and Demons”, “Catfish” and “Circles” videos were all paid out of Tamar and Vince pockets but Epic only released two. “Catfish” and “Circle” should’ve been edited and released while she was sick to further promote but the label had already moved on. Only “Let Me Know”, “If I Don’t Have You” and “Catfish” were released as OFFICIAL radio and promo singles, the other songs were simple promo. “Calling All Lovers” had no big budget, my guess is because of the heavy AC R&B sound, Epic couldn’t even clear Future’s full feature for the single or its radio release. Tamar’s promo consisted of Wendy, Bet Awards were she had to share the stage with 2 people, singing “King” on the real and radio interviews, she legit had no big budget like she did in 2013. That album, its promo and packaging was completely mishandled. And she had plenty hit: “Catfish”, “Love It”, “ASAP”, “Must Be Good To You”, “Coming Home”, were great single choices!

      • Jasmine September 5, 2017

        I could care less who paid for music videos. My question is that after 4 music videos and 5 officially released singles (5 were in fact officially released to radio) the album far exceeded the industry standard for promoting r&b albums, especially from an older act. Only a delusional fan thinks an R&B album in today’s industry is supposed to get numerous videos and singles. The average promotion for an R&B album is one music video and one single. A 2nd single and video only occurs if the artist had a semi-hit with their first single. Tamar’s promotion quadrupeled that. Your opinion of what could or should’ve been a hit is also irrelevant because that is just a fan-based opinion and not one based on facts. The facts are the album flopped and none of the numerous singles or videos released were hits. The album also got mixed reviews (3 out of 5). You can praise mediocrity if you want to but I have to agree with the writer of this article that her previous album called Love and War was way better than her last one. Anyways, I don’t think I need explain the facts to someone that is delusional. Fact is I don’t like Tamar and I certainly won’t be buying or that muppet B I T C H’s new album or previous albums. WillNeverBuyAMuppetRecord.org. Period. Dot Net.

      • 4everBrandy_Ci September 5, 2017

        @Jasmine

        Oh you’re a typical clown that’s doing the most. She didn’t get as much exposure. And the issues with her health was something she needed to take care of. You can say “flop” all you want but the reality is Tamar and other black artist have been getting poor recognition due to the backwards state of well “this many black artist” can get into mainstream. So the f*** what she didn’t get any hits from her last album. She didn’t get the full budget. And the era would’ve been really great if she did have a huge budget to invest in her.

      • Jasmine September 5, 2017

        4everBrandy_Ci Girl blah blah blah and it still was a FLOP. Let’s move on dear.

    • 4everBrandy_Ci September 5, 2017

      @Jasmine
      Is that all you can say “flop”. You can’t drag me. Trolls don’t get it anyway. *shrugs*

      • Jasmine September 6, 2017

        I dont need to “drag” you pigeon.

  14. Kaz September 5, 2017

    Wow, that cover is BEAUTIFUL. Very artistic and different. Nice. I’m expecting some great QUALITY music that really showcases Tamar, THE ARTIST. And her last album Calling All Lovers was great!! Very underrated and slept on, heavily. It was a great body of work…an R&B gem, forreal. People just don’t appreciate GOOD music, these days. It’s all about “what’s hot” now, but she had some great songs on that album from beginning to end. AND VOCALS. #slay

    • 4everBrandy_Ci September 5, 2017

      @Kaz

      Yes Tamar has it period! I support her and I enjoy her records. Some people want mediocre and for myself that appreciates these black artist I support I don’t understand how some of these miserable people troll on here!

  15. @Nate September 5, 2017

    The cover is dope! I love all her covers tho. That title is weird tho… I actually liked/still bump calling all lovers, so many potential singles wasted.

  16. Tre Lamar September 5, 2017

    ‘Calling All Lovers’ is an amazing piece of work and didn’t get it’s just due! Looking forward to this album Tay Tay! You never disappoint!

    SN: I don’t understand why people wish bad luck on others they don’t necessarily care for. That’s how karma begins … and ends, if you will. But I digress …

    • 4everBrandy_Ci September 5, 2017

      @Tre Lamar

      Tamar will get the support from her fans. Let these bird chirping mofos stay pressed.

      • Jasmine September 5, 2017

        “Bird chirping mofos” LOL Girl Bye. The same can be said about you chirping away and clapping your pigeon wings at people that don’t like your favs. All your favs are FLOPS! LOL

      • 4everBrandy_Ci September 5, 2017

        @Jasmine
        They’re “flops” but at least they can pay their bills. You’re not funny. *Yawns*

      • Jasmine September 6, 2017

        I dont know anyone who cannot pay their bills but i guess broke h o e s like you are impressed with prople that jave a little money.

  17. Jackx September 5, 2017

    huh? her last album is miles better than “love and war”

  23. cocobutta September 6, 2017

    Yes I’m ready for this. Lovely cover and Tay been sanging her face off so far with My Man.

  24. steve September 6, 2017

    I love that she can generate this much discussion, it’s a good thing whether we like it or not. COL was a very good album, it just lacked cohesion and hit singles. I hope she has put a good body of work like LAW. Wishing her the best because she always delivers. Am here for it.

    • Rohan September 6, 2017

      But aren’t just a few people generating this discussion? It takes more than range to sell albums. Her albums lack cohesion n hits I must agree…

  25. Annette Breazell-Greathouse September 7, 2017

    Can’t wait. Fan for life. She invited me to her showcase Love and War and I will never forget.
