Cardi B‘s ‘Bodak Yellow’ has set a new record on the Billboard Hot 100 seeing her cast a soon-to-be platinum shadow over efforts made by Remy Ma, Lil Kim and more.

Billboard reports…

Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” tops the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a third week, marking a new longevity record for a hit by an unaccompanied female rapper.

With this, the song snatches the record from Lauryn Hill‘s ‘Doo Wop‘ which held it for years undisturbed by efforts launched by Nicki Minaj, Remy Ma, Lil Kim, Missy Elliot and Trina.

It’s silly when girls sell their souls because it’s in
Look at where you be in, hair weaves like Europeans
Fake nails done by Koreans
Come again, come again, come again, my friend come again

I honestly don’t think she is. If she is then all female rappers named would be. I don’t discredit anything any of them have done.

Doo Wop is an enduring classic. This stupid song will be forgotten by next year, if it ever scans Gold by then.

But Lauryn HIll only had one #1 single and one solo album too and she’s still considered a legend. We kept trying to tell yall that Nicki flourished b/c she was with the top crew at the time and she still couldn’t beat Drake in record sales. Everybody who had a label pushing them won, i.e., Iggy, Dej Loaf and Cardi. But noooooooooo…yall kept wanting to compare Nicki against independent artists like Kim and Remy. Go Cardi. I hate to tell yall but Bodak Yellow is already a classic because of the urban street sound and “bloody shoes” reference. It will be a street anthem for a long time. Fancy isnt tho.

Classic? You sound delusional. It’s popular- no more no less. Classic means it’s timeless. You need to raise your standards or, at least, look up the definition of classic.

    • Meme October 9, 2017

Lmfaoooo. Boo what’s you’re definition of classic?

      • Yolanda October 10, 2017

Bodak Yellow will make an all-time list that is not based on sales but based on it being a “good song.” Fancy was not a good song. It was only popular. Fancy will make an all-time list based on sales and chart position only.

It’s called The Fugees. That’s adds to her status

TGJ acting shady! Congrats to King Bey blasting to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100! Blue’s muva betta slay DOWN lol

  10. Crookly October 9, 2017

All i know is her second single better be an equal banger to her 1st or she gonna get dragged to hell and back again.

    • Yolanda October 10, 2017

Stop it! Lauryn Hill’s next singles Ex-Factor peaked at #21 on Hot 100 and Everything is Everything peaked at #35. As Mariah Carey said, a #1 Hot 100 is hard to come by. Stop pressuring Cardi B.

Remy is suppose to be coming out with her first single off of her new album by this week or next week Friday said by Fat Joe on TRL.

    Congrats to Cardi!

Everyone makes lauryn hill bigger than what she is that was the only #1 hit from what I hear that she had or have…sad to say where is lauryn hill today..if she’s so big of a selling artist why is it that the 7 or 10 year frame that this suppose to be record selling Nicki who only can sell while featuring with or while someone else singles did not drop album or any singles while Nicki was out?????once again where was miss hill..oh I for got she was still some where singing ool la la la … let’s be real is Lauryn Hill dropped a album today it would not sell 1 million copies its first week so let’s stop acting like these old orders or still album sellers today like it was yesterday because they are not it’s a whole new day in a whole new season albums are. Me and do not sell like they used to back in the 90s to where you can actually go into a record store and buy a CD Now everything is string or downloading for the computer for the next person to copy and send to the next person for free this is why a lot of old artist are not putting out new records or albums because music today has changed from what it was back in the nineties to where people actually went out to the stores and bought a actual CD
