Drake’s ‘More Life’ Omitted From Grammys

Published: Friday 27th Oct 2017 by David

Drake‘s ‘More Life‘ isn’t eligible for any Grammys despite being released within this year’s eligibility window?

Why?

Surprising news below…

‘Life’ was released shortly after the rapper’s ‘Views‘ and was touted as a playlist…not an album.

For that reason Drake decided to pull himself out of the running by not submitting the ‘Passionfruit‘-fuelled release for consideration.

His decision to do so will see him avoid going head to head with Kendrick Lamar’s ‘DAMN’ which is expected to dominate this year’s nominations lists once they’re unleashed in November.

    As it should be!

This is not an eligibility issue. He did not submit the songs and that is why he is not eligible.

Last year Drake said: “Even though ‘Hotline Bling’ is not a rap song, the only category they can manage to fit me in is a rap category. Maybe because I’ve rapped in the past or because I’m black, I can’t figure out why. I won two awards last night, but I don’t even want them, because it just feels weird for some reason.”

I consider that rap though. Find your love and Hold on is r&b but hotline bling is talking over a trap beat – That’s rap

        Hold on is pop.

No. Hotline Bling is singing the whole way through. It’s not rap.

Yes you do. Stop lying to yourself. You would not be on this post if you did not listen to it.

Dare I say he’s scared to go head to head with Kendrick whose damn will obliterate his album, playlist , ep or whatever it’s presented as in every category nominated

That s*** is an album, regardless of how often he wants to keep calling it a ‘playlist’ or whatever the hell that’s supposed to be about.
