SZA Shoots ‘Doves In The Wind’ Video With Kendrick Lamar

Published: Friday 27th Oct 2017 by Sam

It’s quickly becoming clear that SZA plans to pair most (if not all) of the songs from her debut album ‘CTRL’ with an accompanying video.

The latest to receive the visual treatment being ‘Doves In The Wind.’

SZA, real name Solána Rowe, was snapped shooting the video in the desert with TDE comrade Kendrick Lamar. Nabil has been nabbed as the director.

The filming comes following news that Solange is taking the helm of the visual for fan favorite ‘The Weekend.’

For now though, peep another snap below…

Gorgeous!

In other SZA news, ‘CTRL’ was recently certified Gold by the RIAA.

I’m sorry but her team is a mess. They made so much mistake. From the beginning I didn’t understand her releases. Like what a single, what isn’t a single. 3 of the albums strongest songs (broken clocks, weekend, garden) have yet to be release. But here we are releasing another song from the album no on cares about. I still don’t understand why super model had a video.

      1) Broken clocks was released as a promo single.
      2) You’re opinion of what the strongest songs on the album are, isn’t necessarily the case.
      3) The Weekend has already been released as a single, but SZA and solange have coordinate their schedules so they can begin filming
      4) Doves in the Wind is still a fan-favourite
      5) Shooting a video doesn’t necessarily mean it will be a single (e.g. Supermodel was not a single and still had a video).

I like how she is running her program & her music is nice!

This album is really put together, well written and is definitely cohesive in a sense. However, I will say that the weakest song on this album is Doves in the wind. I skip this song whenever I listen to this album and pretend it doesn’t exist. I really just hate it. I like Kendrick, but his part in the song is ridiculous – almost a nuisance. I just hate the song. It’s pointless and doesn’t fit the concept of CTRL. Also, Drew Barrymore was a strong first single followed by the iconic Love Galore that received less televised promotion than it actually deserved…Ellen? Even Wendy? GMA? The weekend was definitely a great back up song after love galore — good choice as third single. Can we have Prom as the fourth single? I see prom climbing the charts like Love Galore because it has a very SZA signature sound-ish type of style….. Doves in the wind as a promo single is cute or whateva, but many people just don’t care for it, including this b****.

It’s a shame she didn’t do a video for prom as it’s one of my favourites and has crossover potential. I would also love to see a video for 20 somethings and go Gina

Yes! Go Gina is a bop and could appeal to fans of Lana del Rey and people like that, essentially reaching a bigger fan base. The low-key vibe of Go Gina and 20’s something could be good double fifth and final singles release, right after Prom. Prom is a hit that may or may not see the light. Doves in the wind is just tacky, I’m sorry. She need to release two more singles, and then move on to another bop of an album for 2018.

I’d love a video for Go Gina, especially if the concept is her re-enacting a scene from Martin and Tisha Campbell makes a cameo like Drew did. It shouldn’t be a single since it’s way too short of a song, but it’s a solid album cut!
