Exclusive: JoJo Talks New Music & Anticipated Collaborations

Published: Monday 25th Dec 2017 by Sam

JoJo has endured hardships few artists will ever know, but she emerged triumphant last year with the release of ‘Mad Love’ – her first album in a decade.

Now, as 2018 approaches, the songbird is gearing up to hatch new tunes.

As reported, she departed Atlantic Records to nest at new home Interscope – where she’ll house her own label Clover Music.

Having wrapped her US tour recently, That Grape Juice caught up with the 27-year-old for a candid backstage chat.

Ever frank, JoJo mused on her career, her edgier image, upcoming music, anticipated collaborations, and much more.

Love her and her music but this album did not do it for me. I think it was because the new label she was on. They controlled so much but didnt know her body of work or her sound

She is another singer who is UNDERRATED and i Blame HER. Thinking Out Loud and Reckless — should have been singles and promoted. She does have some say so. Girl get your marketing together…….

I bought Mad Love and I rarely listen to it. When I do, I only play “Mad Love” and maybe 2 other songs before I’m ready to listen to something else. I still like JoJo, however, and I’ll be here for whatever she does next. I just hope I enjoy it.

I’ll always support JoJo but ‘Mad Love’ was just not it.

The only song on ‘Mad Love’ that sounded like JoJo was Fake Ass B$tch and maybe the title track. I’m always hear for her to evolve but honestly all three mid-tempos/ballads from her ‘tringle’ were better than this album. She had me really excited with ‘Say Love/When Love Hurts’.
