The Numbers Are In! Miguel’s ‘War & Leisure’ Sold…[Updated]

Published: Monday 11th Dec 2017 by Rashad

Miguel‘s lengthy promo run in support of his fourth album, ‘War & Leisure,’ has proven useful in his battle for the top of R&B charts this week.

The set was kicked off by the Travis Scott-assisted ‘Sky Walker,’ a sleeper hit that’s worked its way up to become his highest charting solo outing since his signature hit, 2012’s ‘Adorn’ (#17 peak on the Hot 100).  Overall, the cut marks his first appearance in Hot 100 top 60 since 2013’s ‘Beautiful’ with pop icon Mariah Carey (#15 peak).

The song’s success, in conjunction with the critical acclaim of its follow-ups ‘Pineapple Skies,’ ‘Told You So,’ and a trusty album bundling deal with ticket sales from the recently announced ‘War & Leisure’ tour (click here for dates), helped hoist the project to the top of a number of rhythmic album charts this week.

We’ve already reported the preliminary numbers (click here to read), but now Billboard & Nielsen have teamed to announce the final figures.  See them inside:

Why is it that these newer R&B artist are achieving some success while the older artist are failing. Example Miguel, Keyshia Cole.

Miguel is considered an older artist?

      • Electrikblue December 11, 2017

Yes he’s been out since what 2009?

      • ??? December 12, 2017

lol 2009? same question applies…since when is miguel considered an “older” artist? lmao

Sweetie don’t put Miguel in the category as Keisha. Totally different tier artistZ Miguel may not sell a lot of albums but he’s still popping, has mainstream appeal and does well on tour. Keisha is either.

Can you guys stop doing these sales post on artist like miguel. We don’t care if he sold 1 million copies or 1 copy. He’s still 100x better than high selling artist like basic aszz Ed Sheeran and the weekend

Off topic, Keyshia Cole dropped one of the best albums this year PERIOD! If you have not listened then don’t speak on hear. Way better than Miguel’s album @meme! Chris brown’s album is better as well!
