Report: Camila Cabello Sets January Date Release For Self Titled Debut

Published: Tuesday 5th Dec 2017 by Sam

Camila Cabello is coming!

Anticipation for the starlet’s solo debut has been sky-high ever since she soared to heights unthought of with ‘Havana’ this year.

And now it appears the set, which looks to have been retitled, has a definitive release date.

Dive below for details…

While Cabello has yet to pour the tea, Amazon Japan (as well as a series of other international retailers) have an album named ‘Camila’ set for a January 12th 2018 arrival.

The listing seems to support growing murmurs that the 21-year-old has renamed the project, which she previously told fans was titled ‘The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving’ in an open letter.

*********

If indeed the date, we say it’s a wise play. Potentially.

Q4 is overcrowded and she’d run risk (despite the success of ‘Havana’) being swallowed and chewed by the industry’s established titans.

As such, what she’d lose in Holiday sales she could plausibly make-up by having a lack of competition in January – a window that historically is the quietest time of the year.

The flip side of that is that folk tend to be all spent out from the holidays, hence may well hold on to their $10 and instead keep snapping up her single.

Time will tell.

For now though, what are…

Your thoughts?

January is a bad month for anything as people spent money on Christmas and people are waiting for tax refund. She should have release her album on Black Friday, December or Mid February. This will be interesting.

Whoever is behind marketing for this chick deserves a raise. They are determined to make her the next big pop tart. I guess if Jesus turned water into wine, anything is possible . **shrugs**

I just don’t get this girl, she’s so meh! An Ariana Grande lesser. But somebody in the industry obviously wants her to be the next big thing.

Demi told her on X Factor that she was gonna be a star 6 years ago…her head has been blown up since. Shell be lucky to sell 20k first week.

Fifth Harmony has abot 70-80 when the five of them were together. After she left they sold like 46,000 units (32,000 in traditional album sales). The girl group’s last album (with Camila in it), 7/27, also debuted and peaked at No. 4 in 2016 (74,000 in units and 49,000 in sales).

So judging by this, the group did 15K less without her, so we know at minimum she will sell 15K.

I think she may sell about 50K in her first week lol.

Jammy…the group did 15K less without because no one knew their album was out till their album was out…it had nothing to do with Camouflage. Also their label was investing in their money in Camouflage before they broke up, there was no promo for them till after both her singles flopped and the girls did the VMA and released Angel, both with rave reviews.
