Taylor Swift’s ‘Reputation’ Certified 3x Platinum…In Less Than One Month

Published: Monday 11th Dec 2017 by Rashad

Despite learning her latest opus, ‘Reputation,’ was removed from the Billboard 200’s summit by chart champions U2 this week, Taylor Swift‘s Monday was still accompanied with good news.

The November 10-released set, which was certified platinum its debut week thanks to over 1 million copies shifted in pure sales, has now been boosted up to a new RIAA certification level thanks to the addition of streaming.

Details inside:

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) took to Twitter to congratulate Taylor on earning her first diamond-certified project as her 2008 sophomore album, ‘Fearless,’ crossed the 10x platinum threshold this month.  But, as if that wasn’t enough reason for her devoted fans (affectionately called #Swifties) to rejoice, the announcement was accompanied with two more whammies.

‘Reputation’s lead singles – the #1 hit ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ and the top 5 smash ‘Ready For It’ – were both certified triple platinum and platinum respectively.  The songs’ follow-up – ‘Gorgeous’ – also snagged a Gold certification.

Their parent project not only nabbed 3x platinum honors, but – after just 1 month of availability – is already the highest certified release of the year!

Congratz are in order to Ms. Swift!

    I’ll say it again.

“Basics like Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift make other people with basic voices and non existant performance skills feel like they can make it too. They are intimidated by real vocalist, performers, songwriters, and talent because they don’t possess it.”

    • Bianca December 11, 2017

Y’all stay stuck on the same stuff obviously ppl just like music and that’s as far as their interest goes a good song. They don’t care who writes what and sales and charts they like music

      • Faf December 11, 2017

They gon have to stay mad

If ubstan for the likes of rihanna we not gon make this a white thing

Cuz that b**** been skating by fashion for years

      • Bam December 12, 2017

Lol They like sh*t with a name brand.

This is an album seller! Has a diamond album and fresh album already 3x platinum! Now for everyone that’s gonna come speak on mediocrity let this be lesson that hype and overly praise equals nothing. Not just that but no matter how much b*** kissing your fav gets she’s not doing these numbers! No matter what Beyoncé has yet to achieve a diamond album in America or boast these sales. Rihanna hasn’t either but I say Beyoncé because she has a hype like no other and when she’s not winning on the singles front compared to Rihanna u all say she’s an album seller, now u all gonna cling to tours but I’m sure Taylor gonna smash that, then ur gonna cling to how much she makes and I’m sure it will NOT be the same as this year all she has left is performing but by that time u all just have to admit that her bark is waaaay bigger than her bite! America may kiss that b*** but nobody’s really buying her music except for the same fans

      One word: 460.

    • Alex December 11, 2017

B**** shut up!! What is YOUR fave doin?? You damn fake hater!! You’re one of Bey fans, just undercover! Adele, Bey, Rih, and Taylor are ALL pop giants for various reasons! Bey been in the game 20 years and now is THE ONLY African American female artist to have a #1 single in three separate decades! Congratulate Taylor and hop off of Beys d***!! Damn!!

      • Bianca December 11, 2017

lmao don’t be mad I stated facts didn’t tell one lie! Again like I said Y’all s*** all over everyone else’s work when Beyoncé sell the same amount of albums EACH album and swear she’s the best artist out! Y’all only compare her to Rihanna cause that’s the only heavy hitter she outsells that’s relevant in music today. This is nothing but lil humble pie for y’all to eat. If Beyoncé could do this y’all would be in here sooo disrespectful. All I’m saying is Beyoncé is all hype. Oh and my fav is all through the year end charts with a 2016 album. Yeah that 460 y’all talk about but that same album y’all think lemonade was so much better than is still charting AS A WHOLE as well as some singles. Oh and the album is charting with rih being the TOP female artist lmao u can have b*** kissers all day but what does it matter if they’re not buying your music! Now if anybody’s hating it’s anyone that comes to say anything negative about this girl’s accomplishment! I’ve seen plenty ppl on plenty of blogs call Beyoncé mediocre so it’s safe to say that it’s all subjective.

Only african artist To have a number one in three different decades??
Well boo Diana ross and Janet say hi

  3. Achooo! December 11, 2017

Good for her! I guess playing the victim a millionth time work. The standards in the music industry is at a all time low. Stiff non rhythmic pitchy slanky mediocrity is what’s popular for now.

    White Privilege!

    • Belladonna December 11, 2017

Gaga,Katy,Demi & Miley albums all flopped Where was there privilege then? I don’t think White privilege is what makes Taylor sell so well, it’s the fact that there’s never been an artist like her. Her boyfriends are famous Her Friends are famous & her enemies are famous and she writes about them all. Theres never been a celebrity this Famous that details there lives like she does it’s Epic plus her videos are big Budget & songs are amazing.

    • S****** Blonde December 11, 2017

      @Jay
      That’s the stupidest thing ever.

      • Caleb December 12, 2017

I’m sure you’ve written way “stupider” things.

  5. truthtea December 11, 2017

The problem with albums selling that much in such a short time is it quickly burns and falls off the charts. They’re not destined to have longevity on the charts. On top of that, the singles she’s released so far have had trouble maintaining the top 20 positions on itunes and on the Hot 100. The other problem is Taylor doesn’t have a signature song or sound. She’s too fixated on writing about all of her drama that she’s failed to really create her magnum opus! If she were to just finally grow up and allow her songwriting and sound to mature, then yeah I could def respect her “hype”

    • Jay December 12, 2017

      Agree

    • Caleb December 12, 2017

But even if it didn’t sell anymore copies ever (which it obviously will), it still outsold all the other albums this past year. So I’m not sure it matters much.

  6. Theman December 11, 2017

Taylor has a song currently climbing the charts. What an amazing album seller.

  7. Dingell jones December 11, 2017

Rihanna and beyonce the only artist well black female artist winning we need more shows and radio that showcase black artist

    • Caleb December 12, 2017

It depends on your definition of “winning” because to me there are more artists than these 2 winning. SZA is winning, Mary J. Blige is winning, Nicki would be winning if she’d release a damn album, etc.

  8. S****** Blonde December 11, 2017

Most of her sales comes from the USA though, that album sold just like 1 million outside of the USA, her sales are mostly local, just like Garth Brook, but a diamond album is a still a great achievement, other artists wish they could buy a diamond certification, I guess, some things are not negotiable.

    • Stephy December 12, 2017

She’s country-pop idiot… Country is not used outside of America. She only started selling big outside the America when she added pop. That’s why 1989 sold 4 million copies outside the USA. American & Japan market >>>> European markets period.

    • Caleb December 12, 2017

I thought Garth Brooks was a global phenomenon no? Probably the biggest country star globally next to Shania Twain (and Taylor Swift if you can even call her that).

  9. GurlWepa1989 December 11, 2017

QueenTaylor and her Legendary Lane. Congrats are in order!!! She’s one of the very few that can shift large scale (historically) of albums and singles. She may not be a string vocalist but she’s a true artist who can sing, write, play and produce her own records. Give credit where it’s due and don’t be mad because your fav can’t even come close to Taylor’s level. Speak on #facts

    • Bianca December 12, 2017

??????I’m Rihanna fan and I applaud her on what she’s accomplished may not listen to her but I’m just one person

  10. Theman December 11, 2017

Her album hasn’t been out too long. So to sale a million outside of the US already is amazing.

  11. Swazon December 12, 2017

Genius is hard to capture. Taylor is a brilliant artist. She continues to evolve as she should given her age. Reputation is her best offering hence the accolades and album sales. She works her @ss off and is an inspired song writer. Oh hey turns out she can dance. Revenge of the nerds.

  12. Bad_B December 12, 2017

I like her music in general but LWYMMD and ready for it are not what she’ll be remembered for :/ she should not go down the empty pop lane coz its a dead end. I like her music a little folky even the singles too.

  13. Yes. December 12, 2017

Dont blame me should be a single

  14. DanYiel Iman December 13, 2017

    Everyone loves Taylor Swish foolishness!!

  15. Fancy_bish December 16, 2017

Taylor’s haters are seething to death. Lol
Eat your words coz Queen Taylor outsold y’all faves discgraphy
    Taylor reigns supremes
Only Adele Taylor and Beyonce are winning
