Released last summer as a taste of the singer’s premiere album offering ‘Camila,’ ‘Havana’ peaked last Fall at #2 on the tally. A spot it occupied for seven non-consecutive weeks.
Yet, sales of its housing album, gifted the Pharrell Williams penned track added fuel and helped it turbo charge its way to #1. Marking Cabello’s first time atop of the coveted count.
Indeed, the flavorsome jam amassed the following in the current tracking week: 80,000 US downloads, 44.9 million Stateside streams, and 131 million all-format radio audience impressions.
Cabello now earns the rare honor of simultaneously boasting the #1 single and #1 album in the US.
It goes without saying that if there lay any doubt about her clout as a solo force, it’s been dispelled and then some.
Fun fact: ‘Havana’ now equals Sia’s ‘Cheap Thrills’ as the longest time taken for a song by a female to hit #1 – at 23 weeks.
