G-Eazy Scraps Upcoming H&M Line After Racism Scandal

Published: Wednesday 10th Jan 2018 by Sam

H&M may have apologized for their racially insensitive ad seen around the world, but the fall-out from the scandal continues.

It turns out the clothing giant were on the cusp of announcing a new partnership with rapper G-Eazy.

However, he’s taken to social media to reveal that he’s pulled the plug on it in direct response to the racist ad.

The ‘No Limit’ MC’s words below…

Over the past months I was genuinely excited about launching my upcoming line and collaboration with @HM… Unfortunately, after seeing the disturbing image yesterday, my excitement over our global campaign quickly evaporated, and I’ve decided at this time our partnership needs to end. Whether an oblivious oversight or not, it’s truly sad and disturbing that in 2018, something so racially and culturally insensitive could pass by the eyes of so many (stylist, photographer, creative and marketing teams) and be deemed acceptable. I can’t allow for my name and brand to be associated with a company that could let this happen. I hope that this situation will serve as the wake up call that H&M and other companies need to get on track and become racially and culturally aware, as well as more diverse at every level.

Eloquently put.

Dear G-Eazy. STFU. Ask your trailerpark aunt and uncles and grandparents about the use of the N word and “m*****” and i’m sure its apart of their regular vocabulary. STFU

You can’t hold someone else responsible for someone else’s action. Even if his family uses these words for him to stand up and change the cycle and teach the new generations is a big thing.

People evolve, grow up and learn through experiences. If we are always judged through our past how can we change the future.

well, most on here was holding Nicki Minaj accountable for her bothers nastiness, putting her in a bad light for something that isn’t her fault. where were you then?
and for some reason I agree with China on this G easy nonsense, a lot of them out there is using this situation for there own motives a lot them don’t give a d-mn about these issues, and some blacks are doing the same thing too.

Dear ASH….STFU, you sound completed stupid. Who cares who he dates. His ancestors continue to enslave people of color. STFU. You are the prime example of a ASSHOLE who smooths over bad race relations with “but he has black friends”.

I mean, it makes complete sense. Look at his audience. He’s knows what’s up. But at the same time.. I really think it’s not about that and it’s really genuine coming from him. This type of attitude coming from everyone could be a start.

??‍♂️ Soo is it only bad for a black baby to wear that sweater because the color of our skin? But a white baby can be the cutest m***** in the jungle and it won’t be taken in the same context because their skin isn’t brown????

    • We are the grandchildren of the slaves you couldn’t kill – tyler January 10, 2018

M***** is a racial slur against blacks…..not WHITES. So no, had they put the white kid in the sweater it wouldnt matter ya big dummy.

      • Mar January 10, 2018

I’m no dummy, dummy. I’m not about to put limitations on me or my child based off a racial slur that was created decades up decades ago that was never valid to begin with. A m***** is a animal, such as a bird, dog, etc. Monkeys were here long before that racial slur was even thought off. Soo because of one human’s ignorance/joke that has carried for generations I’m supposed to feel some type of way towards monkeys???? There I say it again, it’s a f****** money, a animal. Something God never intended for to be a slur towards anyone.
