After the warm reception of tunes ‘No Drama’ (featuring Offset of Migos) and the Future-assisted ‘Faded Love,’ T’s returned with ‘Me So Bad.’ An island-flavored groove that’s enlisted the skills of rappers Ty Dolla $ign and French Montana to support, the tune’s drop comes just two weeks before fans will finally have their hands on its serially delayed parent album.

I like Tinashe but my God how many chances are she is gonna get. I don’t want to see nobody say her record label doesn’t support her because she get gud visuals n big/hot collaborators. I wish Kelly Rowland and Ciara was given these chances. Kelly got one single off her last album n it went Gold n the album sold 300K in the US n the label moved on. Imagine if Kelly got to released 6 singles off her album s*** it probably would’ve went platinum.

The video looks cheap and kinda corny which is why I cannot understand why she wasted the time and resources on No Drama and the other one, instead of committing it all to pushing one strong single. The song isn’t that great either but most made for radio songs aren’t so, it is what it is.

I love me some Tinashe, this single is cute, out of the three she’s released, Faded Love is the only one that is catchiest/most memorable to me. She needs to make a legit video for Faded Love as well. The budget/effort/all around creativity used for her No Drama video should be used towards an official Faded Love video.
Tinashe’s been givin so many chances and she’s lucky to have that leverage, she’s hustled and stayed consistent throughout her past singles/album delays etc. ‘Sacrifices’ will always be my fav joint from her (even thought not an actual single). I wish other artists would be given multiple chances, JUNES DIARY for example, they have everything to make themselves a legit name, but no support. Every song they have released has been on point, wish they could release official single, music video, drop their damn album already. They stay touring, I just wish they would move past the bs and release something with consistent promo. Kelly Rowland abandoned them right? Frank Gatson is the only one who’s still by their side. Sad to see artists with talent/memorable attributes and not get the support/credit they deserve (ex: Tinashe, June’s Diary, Kelly Rowland, JoJo, and Jessie J just to name a few)
I agree Faded love is the best of the three. Heck, No Drama is even better than this song. What makes me angry is that Tinashe always has some truly great songs within her albums, but she always releases the worst ones as singles ?

I am digging the song! It’s cute, catchy, with some hot features – so it has the potential to do well. The thing we have to remember is the music being released is not based off Tinashe’s choosing, but RCA. The same record company that held up the release dates of both SZA and Sevyn albums. The Nightride mixtape was the label compromise with allowing Tinashe to release the kind of music she wants, whereas the album is all their doing with Tinashe trying to work within their parameters to make sure the album is still quality despite the fact it’s not the quality she would want.
Just think, of the album was released when Party Flavors, Player, and Ride is Your Lofe were released, it would have sounded sonically similar to Aquarius, a sound that I enjoyed. But the label had to make her more pop, and forced her to release Superlove, Company, and Flame – which are all notably absent from the album. I am looking forward to Tinashe’s album as I am a fan, but I am also aware that RCA does not know what to do with her, so rather than letting her do their thing, they keep forcing her to put out material that strays from her fan base. All in all, it’s not her, it’s her label, and RCA is known for mismanaging their female acts 🙁
I think you hit everything on the nail except that RCA maybe helping her. Tin’s artistic approach is quality for art but not for business. We must understand that the music industry isn’t just about expressing yourself. RCA see that she has the potential to be a major star so they’re urging her to become that. As a professional, Tin needs to figure out how to be a biz woman and strategic enough to make sure her personality shows up in her music. The last post about Rihanna spoke to this same issue and Rihanna is years into the game and is an icon. I understand Tin’s fan base wants her to maintain her indie vibe but in order for to grow her Brand and reach, she has to play the biz.
I, personally, have always respected the science behind making hits. So far Tinashe has drop three awesome songs. No Drama was closer to her personal style. Faded love was her style meets Urban contemporary/pop and this last song could be a hit. If she continues this.. and slide us her raw music on the album then use her fourth album to create her lemonade moment.. she will be one of our next A list entertainers.

I’m not feeling this single tbh, it’s too mainstream for my tastes. She does need a radio bop but I would have preferred that this be a side feature she guests on during the Joyride campaign rather than clog up the sonics of the actual album.
