Published: Thursday 12th Apr 2018 by Rashad

It’s finally here!

After word of its arrival cranked as early as the top 0f 2015, spring 2018 can lay claim to the premiere of Tinashe‘s long-awaited sophomore album ‘Joyride.’

Revamped, repackaged, and reimagined multiple times ahead of its April 13 debut, the project in its current incarnate was preceded by three action packed singles (‘Me So Bad,’ ‘No Drama,’ and ‘Faded Love’) and called upon the talents of chart-topping rap talents Future, French Montana, Offset, and Ty Dolla $ign to assist.

Will their support, alongside the anticipation for ‘Joyride’s long-awaited commute to record shelves, be enough to hoist the project to a respectable first week placement on the Billboard 200?  Listen inside and weigh in:

Yesssss Miss Nashe!!!!! She did what these other overrated girls should have done!!!! A lot of hidden gems & bops in this record! I was scared she was going pop glad she stuck to her experimental r&b roots!

Thank you T. Immacute album. Ohh La La is my ish.

Sidenote, I cannot get over how much the title track sounds like rihanna. I have to keep telling myself this isn’t rihanna singing.

He don’t want it, no contest and fire and Flames were the standouts for me.. Good job Tee.

  6. A&R April 13, 2018

Rihanna would have killed Joyride. Wow! Now I see why she tried to buy it.

  8. BYT April 13, 2018

Eh! Another meh piece of work her fans will swear is a masterpiece. When really it only has three songs worth mentioning.

I was so scared it was going to be another pop/trap record, especially because I hate all 3 current singles. However, the rest of the album completely made up for it. It probably won’t catch on, but I’ve given her my $8…

Maybe it’ll grow on me but the album is very lackluster to me. I like that it’s r&b without sounding like other music that’s out now though. It’s easy to ride the wave. Tinashe did her own thing. But my thing is that if you spend this long making it album it should be amazing. And it’s not.

Love her, dope album. Stuck with Me and Fires and Flames are SO good!!

  12. CX April 13, 2018

#1 #7 #9 either could’ve been kept or made into full songs.

  13. SuxMyCockiness =o April 13, 2018

    No

Ok. I’ve given the album a few listens and at this point… ima fallback and let her just fly as she may. I like Tin and think she’s unique but I’m not sure of her intentions as an performer and Brand. Im also against speaking courses on ppl desires so I don’t want to say what she will not be but this album doesn’t scream super star. I’m not moved by it and I’m not clear as to her desire for it. The title track is strong but after that the album falls apart. The three songs out plus oh La la and the BEST SONG on the album.. *Stuck with Me* carries everything else. And yes, I’m very aware that Rihanna and Aaliyah struggled with creating solid albums too but where there albums lacked their star power and branding made up for it. Tin is lacking in both areas. I want her to be happy and successful but God knows if the three singles weren’t on this album it would a sad day. I hope she was the creative push behind Me So Bad and Faded Love because if that was the label’s doing and her compromising… damn..

    Now falling back and watching
