Watch: Tinashe Performs ‘No Drama’ On GMA

Published: Friday 6th Apr 2018 by Sam

Tinashe got all sorts of turnt today on Good Morning America.

The Urban-Pop performer is finally pounding the promotional pavement in support of her long-awaited sophomore album ‘Joyride’ – which arrives next Friday (April 13th).

To signal the set’s impending arrival, the 24-year-old took to the stage to perform its latest lead single ‘No Drama.’

Watch ‘Nashe wake up GMA after the jump…

Great performance! Ms. Kachingwe showed up and showed out.

The choreography was slick and effective, and her vocals never faltered despite dancing for the entire duration.

Now, all that’s needed is more stages to blaze.

Fingers crossed that’s coming up during album release week and beyond.

All the makings of a star. Great music, the look, mainstream appeal and can perform her b*** off. Plus she has the backend support from her label with great promo. If this album under performs (which it will), please don’t come in here blaming RCA. It’s yall lame asz consumers who don’t support new artist. Thanks.

I would agree with u but great promo isn’t just doing only TWO tv placement performances. More could be done to get her to win.

I definitely agree! she has it I don’t know what’s not registering

I disagree. If what she does works for you then great but don’t expect everyone to like what you like. I thought her performance started off stiff and got a little better in the middle and then was corny at the end. Overall it was wack for me. She lacks natural rhythm and she can’t sing. Well, the industry already got a black girl who does that (RiRi) so there is no room for Tinashi being a copycat Rihanna. She would have been better off filling Ashanti’s old spot as the hook and demo girl.

I think she can sing (nothing amazing) but her voice is just boring. It has no personality. No uniqueness. There’s nothing special about her voice. Same with her look. Tinashe has talent. She’s just not… aesthetically interesting. Agree that she doesn’t have “it”. If she did, it wouldn’t be so debatable. What’s her look? What’s her sound? And I’m not talking about her needing to stick to one genre. I’m talking about her not having a definable sound that when you can turn on the radio, you can just hear the beat and go, “This is a tinashe song” or you can hear someone else sing a song and go, “this sounds like something tinashe would sing”. That NEVER happens. Instead we do the opposite and hear Tinashe songs and go, “this sounds like a Rihanna/Ciara/Aaliyah song. That’s a problem.

She can at least sing unlike Ri-Whine-A! ✌??

All her singles have been terrible, like they literally sound like flops. Why can’t her label hear the flopness in the music?

Yess TGJ with the constant quick promo for Tee.
    I see the love 🙂

She was technically good, but the music is horrible. Still rooting for Tinashe to win, though….

    ALRIGHT NOW

No…The performance just lacked a soul. I actually like the song, it just doesn’t seem to translate well live. Maybe promote Faded Love more, and get rid of some of the dancers. Some of them were sloppy.

The only other singer/performer to pull off choreo and vocals with that breath control is Beyonce. Her live performances are so dope, not in love with this choreography as much as some of her past singles, but damn that was still crazy impressive. She reminds me of an early Janet with her dancing style. Maybe not the biggest range, but her voice sounds EXACTLY like her recorded versions which is crazy hard to do.

Wake up people Tinashe is the real deal!!

I agree with you. And I held off saying this for a while.. but despite Tin having that white girl.. standard pop vocal style, she has vocal endurance, awesome breathe control, and sounds like her studio recordings. That’s an amazing skill to have. This live performance was dope. Like, she earn a sold point of respect from me. As for her sound not being identifiable.. that will be fixed with her staying the course. In the past, due to creative differences, she didn’t leave a sonice mark because of the constant musical changes. This eara is putting out music that have a clear theme, and her vocal choices are becoming more and more identifiable.

In short, if she doesn’t have a bratty/entitled/Ima deviated from the plan moment.. this era will define her foundation for the next albums and from here is where we will get to meet the beginnings of the star.. Tinashe.

      Awesome job!
