Beyonce & Jay-Z Launch ‘On The Run II Tour’ With A Bang

Published: Wednesday 6th Jun 2018 by Sam

Beyonce and Jay-Z launched their much anticipated ‘On The Run II Tour’ tonight in Cardiff and oh was it a colossal affair.

The power pair unleashed a hyper hot hit list comprised of solo jams such as ‘Formation,’ ‘N*ggas In Paris,’ and ‘Baby Boy.’ They also joined forces to perform collaborative classics like ‘Crazy In Love,’ ‘Deja Vu,’ and ’03 Bonnie & Clyde.’

And while fans hoping for new music may have left unfed, they certainly were compensated with a huge production (easily the duo’s biggest yet), as well an inside look into their lives. Most notably a long-awaited glimpse at twins Rumi and Sir Carter – who turn one years old next week. They’re also shown renewing their vows (!) surrounded by their children.

Set to play 47 more stadium dates across Europe and North America, peep more from The Carter’s Principality Stadium opening…

Pics and clips after the jump…

I love her looks but it is unbelievably hilarious how unnecessary Jay is for this.

  3. DIABETES UNBOTHERED June 6, 2018

I look a LOT like the twins and blue ivy. Yet 1 more reason to support the CARTERS on this SOLD OUT WORLD TOUR.

    • Lana Del Fan June 7, 2018

      @ diabetes
No shade to my girl bey, but this tour is farfrom sold out.

  4. DIABETES UNBOTHERED June 6, 2018

This will probably be a repeat of Mrs Carter era where more and more new songs are added to the set list. Likewise The very first Mrs Carter show had no new songs either

  5. Lol June 6, 2018

Shes being dragged all across twitter INCLUDING her own fans. Literally no one is happy about this lol. I saw video of Formation and she was literally half assing it lol. Almost like she didn’t want to be there.

    • Electrikblue June 7, 2018

Literally nobody is dragging her except people wanting new music

This s*** was horrible! it was the same ol s***! and I love Beyonce but she is playing with the general public! She didn’t perform anything from Lemonade expect Formation! It’s bad enough she didn’t release any new music! one day the games this woman plays is going to back fire! You can’t play with ppls money like this!! On the Run II is no damn sequel and 60% of her fan base feels exactly how I feel

    • Shade June 6, 2018

      @ over it

Only Formation from Lemonade? She did Hold Up / Sorry / Don’t Hurt Yourself / Freedom from the Lemonade album

      • TheTruth June 6, 2018

People are quick to make false reports and make up some damn figures « 60% of her fanbase » lmao so you came up with that because of a few comments you read ?

Jay z did a good job with his set cuz there’s nothing to improve. Bey on the other hand I’m disappointed . The show is only good in the absence of previous shows specifically on the run part 1. Didn’t perform sandcastle love drought 6 inch… Plus they cut Family fued short. I dont like countdown or run the world live anymore especially countdown. beys dancing was lazy almost and recycled. This joint album better be lit. Too much recycled material and concepts on this tour.

  8. JasmineIsTrash June 6, 2018

Yawn…. I’m so bored by these two “Artists” ….. Beyonce’s discography is bland and played out, and Jay-Z hasn’t been relevant in hip-hop for years…

  9. DIABETES UNBOTHERED June 6, 2018

    Not a very strong set list at all;
    “Holy Grail”
    “03′ Bonnie & Clyde”
    “Drunk in Love”
    “Clique”
    “On to the Next One”
    “Formation”
    “99 Problems”
    “Run the World (Girls)”
    “N***** In Paris”
    “Deja Vu”
    “Show Me What You Got”
    “Baby Boy”
    “Countdown”
    “Upgrade U”
    “Everybody Mad”
    “Diva”
    “Family Feud”
    “Perfect Duet”
    “Young Forever”

    • Tori June 6, 2018

From what I saw, the set list is all over the place. They shouldve went with my idea of following the theme of “LEMONADE” and threading the recent albums and a few old songs to that theme but….we got Coachella on the road for everyone who couldn’t make it I guess!

  10. Jasmine (The Original Princess) June 6, 2018

They both look a damn mess

  11. Bam Bam June 6, 2018

Them ain’t the kids. They lying to the world????

  12. Meme June 6, 2018

It must be very disappointing to see them perform the same ole tired songs they’ve perform on previous tours. I can’t believe they did t drop a supporting album nor perform their 2 newer collabs, shining and top off. Lol

    • KillMonger Was Right (Tyler) June 6, 2018

No hun the Anti tour was a disappointment

      • Jasmine (The Original Princess) June 7, 2018

        So was your birth ?‍♂️

      • Reflect me June 7, 2018

Y’all keep Rihanna on the brain, sad
She’s promoting a movie, revolutionizing the makeup industry and her MUSIC is still charting
Beyfreak is all about the gimmicks and ass shaking, no wonder Rihanna gets under your skin

    • DanYiel Iman June 7, 2018

Isn’t that what Ri-Whine-A does? She hasn’t made new music in a while but her tour didn’t gross as much as 3LW…?

      • Reflect me June 7, 2018

Rihanna eclipsed bey a long time ago who cares about a** flipping around a stage

  13. AmericanDream June 7, 2018

This concert was pretty disappointing. I felt like they are doing this whole thing only for the money, using old stuff, nothing innovative or new… the setlist was pretty horrible.

  14. Realtalk June 7, 2018

Rumi is Blue’s twin and Sir looks like Beyoncé.

  15. Realtalk June 7, 2018

Those twins are so cute, and Rumi is a mini me of lue Ivy so so cute and little handsome Sir is so adorable

  16. NOBITCHASSNESS June 7, 2018

    What no album!?

  17. DanYiel Iman June 7, 2018

I love reading complaints about them touring without new music, but nobody complained when Cher, Janet Jackson, Anita Baker, Tina Turner, Ashanti or any other artist tours with old music!! ?

    • ??? June 7, 2018

lmao thats because their discographies are ICONIC and LEGENDARY. Roach’s discography is basic and forgettable, just like her lmfaooooooo

      • Keith June 7, 2018

I would have to agree. Beyonce’s achilles heel rears its ugly head again, LOL. PLENTY of bops, FEW iconic tunes outside of her core fan base unlike Anita, Cher, Janet, Diana, etc……

    • ??? June 7, 2018

lmao well all of them except ashanti, dont know who that is lmfaooo.

  18. fatusankoh June 7, 2018

Omg I love the tour I can’t wait to see them god bless and protect them and their family for life

  19. RoyalKev June 7, 2018

They do it sooooo big! There’s no question about it, these two are giants! Legends! They’ve done it all and still keep coming back to make it more grand! Royals!

  20. pat June 7, 2018

she’s barely dancing from what I seen so far…those twin wearing her out…its ok to take a needed break sus

  21. Keith June 7, 2018

Just watched the show via YouTube. Whereas Coachella was inspired, this just seemed like a money grab and a time suck. Plus, the Cardiff audience SUCKED. Did they know any songs besides “N’s in Paris”, “99 Problems”, and “Crazy In Love”? All artists do a money grab at some point, so I guess this is the Carters’ turn….
